Yeah, I could see that's how HT would have done it - the cloth cap glued onto/over a plastic magnetized hairpiece that swaps out with the full hairpiece.
And sorry, didn't mean to ignite a storm over this issue. yeah, the fig's truly superb overall and can't wait.
As I mentioned, it's just I had intended to cast the cap for use on other Imperials but now feel the sculpt lines are too pronounced to work for lighter grey-green paint of a standard Imp uniform but it's more hidden with it being black on Krennic (though still visible.)
I do prefer sculpted caps over cloth, but there really aren't any good sculpted Imperial caps. The Sideshow sculpted one is terrible. This is a resculpt of the old Hasbro one on my WIP Piett (head's just sitting on neck, no Imperial disc glued as I had intended to use it on the Krennic cap cast) that I had hoped to replace with the HT Krennic cast:
I did do a resculpt of the Sisdeshow one that fixed it to some degree, but it's a fairly low detail sculpt. We really need a good Imperial cap sculpt.
