I envy you, that first great figure feeling has no words to describe it. :D

HT Batman looks AMAZING in photos (the best yet) YET I have chosen the Takara Batman over the HT as the one I prefer to display hence why i'm now selling my HT.

The HT's poor weak ankle design (yet beautiful boots) was the main cause for this plus a few other minor issues (ie; batarangs that keep falling off unlike the Takara which always stays on)....

Don't get me wrong, he had some awesome design elements (Bale's head, large menacing chest, cowl (simon). face) but I hate having to use that damn stand!

By by HT Batman, it was nice knowing you. Maybe next time he'll actually be able to stand on his own.

HT already improved the head, face and cowl in comparison to the Batman Begins they put out, now please concentrate on his ankles and weight distribution if you want me to be a supporter with my hard earned money.

That would be too minor an issue for me to get rid of such an otherwise amazing figure but to each his own.

Got my second one today.

It's an easy fix for the loose ankle. Some members here stuff a bit of paper at the ankle ball joint and it's all tight now.

I have a Takara Bat once and while it is a great figure, it's also a very fragile figure. The rubber suit just started falling apart for lots of people (me included)

How on earth does the suit just start falling apart all by itself... and how long did this take?

I had my Tak Bats for a couple of months, every now and then I'd take him out for some posing. Nothing too extreme.
Then, poof. two huge rips under each arm.

No more rubber suits. I should have know better after years of old G.I.Joe scuba suits that disintagrated. (At least those took a few years).

Kept near any areas like next to radiators? anywhere near heat to dry out the rubber?

I've had my Takara Batman for almost a year, displayed most of the time. No problems.

Except I soooooo badly want to get the new Hot Toys (original suite) Batman. I pass on the purchase because I have the Takara version.

Oh the delimma....

I was in the same boat, but I converted the Takara to display him on the first night outing, and got the Hot Toys to display as Batman of course.

Thanks for the advise, believe me, I appreciate them when they're given, lots of fine folks on these forums.

But take a second and listen to yours and other similar advise.

Maybe because i'm from Mars but when I pay the kind of money that these items are priced at, I tend to get annoyed that toilet and tissue paper are required for the product to perform as advertised.

Yes, look at HT's website, all those cool poses without the stand being used yet mine couldn't even stand straight up without taking a nose dive. Did Hot Toys stuff those boots before the shoot?

Grrrrrr......

Yes, I agree....he looks thick, mean, awesome and photographs very well and he even smells good brand new out of the box and he even did my laundry and dishes and for some this was good enough for him to become a keeper...but...

For me, if Hot Toys wants me to ever purchase another one of their Batmans, they better include the toilet and tissue paper inside the box as an extra item just like the pneumatic mangler!

Hey lookee here, my Takara looking just as cool and mean AND more realistic standing there all on his own.

What a novel concept, standing with his own 2 feet.

You hear that Not So Hot Toys....

I tend to use the stands whether the figure appears to need them or not - I just wouldn't be comfortable having them freestanding - as you point out they're damned expensive - if they do take a dive I would be kicking myself for having not used the stand. Perhaps if I were displaying my figures in a realistic 1/6th scale environment the stands would bother me but since all I'm doing is lining them up on a shelf I have no problem with them. My attitude is these are figures, realistic looking figures but figures nonetheless, theres no great shame that they require stands.

Decent enough opinion, one I respect but simply put, they look better without the stand being used as a crutch and the Takara will definately not take a nose dive, I would bet on it!

Not so the HT, I would definately bet that he would take a swim!

Is the stand bothersome enough for some to not respect his design regardless how good he looks, for me yeah.

It's not just the look, it's the functionality of it as well.

Yes, yes, yes, he looks good but i'm sick and tired of that damn stand pinching the rubber in his inner thigh just because his ankles are too damn weak to sustain the weight of his top heavy design!

Damn those boots look fine though don't they!

Are the boots compatible with Takara at all? Not that you'd get away with doing a swap if you're intending to sell the hot toys one.

I was looking at the accessories for Bank Robber Joker and it really struck me how "accessory-lite" this figure really is. Sure we get a great Bale head, but really what else is there on top of that? Some extra hands that are a pain in the ass to change, a few well-sculpted but pretty unexciting weapons (most of which could be considered part of the belt anyway), and an extra gauntlet that had a few minutes screen time tops, and that I'm sure most people will be leaving in the box.

I'm still really new to collecting these figures, but looking around Sideshow seems to pack some really great accessories with their figures - is this an area where Hot Toys traditionally isn't as good, or consistently good? Am I being too hard on Batman by comparing it to BR Joker where HT knew they really had to add incentives to get people to buy another incarnation of a previously done character? Or is this just a casualty of Nolan's films really not relying on Batman having all those "wonderful toys"? Thoughts anyone?

Hot Toys doesn't often miss an accessory that's relevant for a character in a film, they may split it over 2 figures sometimes, but they rarely miss. I think this figure is as accessorized as he can be, especially being a TDK figure. He never uses the little bomb or the batarangs in TDK, but HT knew they were relevant to Begins and threw them in because they could get away with it.

Accessories are definitely not a weak part of Hot Toys' products. I agree with your comment on the lack of accessories for the Batman figures though. Hope they surprise us and give us the sticky gun.

Yeah, I guess I'm just overwhelmed by how cool the figure is that I'm underwhelmed by the accessories. And you're definitely right, especially given the screen time that this suit gets in TDK there's very little else that could have be given to him...still, I'm an accessory junkie, love having stuff for my toys to use!

Medicom definitely is. All you get from them is the gun and two batarangs.

I'm not a fan of the new suit, either the figure pics or in the film (in the film at least it was usually only partly lit, though, so it wasn't as much of an issue) so I, for one, won't be seeing a sticky gun. Besides, I can't really ever see myself getting more than one version of a figure - the exception being the Joker, but even then the BR body and V1 head will end up in the box and not on display. But hope you guys get your sticky gun! (Who knows, I might even end up picking up one from eBay as an accessory when someone inevitably parts it out haha)

Oh believe me, I'm with you, the more accessories and options for a figure, the more valuable the figure is to me in terms of personal value on it. First and foremost for me is, if it's relevant for the character to have it, I want it included and the Begins Batman figure came through, there isn't anything missing for me as far as accessories. First version Joker is definitely underwhelming in the accessory department, and rightly so. It may be because they didn't know all his accessories until after the movie, but still, some Joker cards, a knife, money which wasn't in the movie at all, and hands wasn't much considering there were guns, grenades, other knives and detonators and things he could have come with also.
