Hot Toys Avatar is official (Movie spoilers)

Isn't Sigourney Weaver very prickly about likeness issues? Hot Toys and Sideshow didn't get the rights for her Aliens likeness. But I guess for older movies they have to go directly to the actor since there where nothing signed before.
For Avatar, likeness-rights are probably already signed in the movie contract.

I would buy at least Avatar-Jake, Neytiri, Quadritch and Trudy Chacon.

I wouldn't be surprised if they completely avoided Sigourneys character. I can't imagine she'd sell amazingly well anyway ( although I'd probably buy her since I've always liked her obviously in Alien and I think she did a great job in Avatar too ) compared to the other characters.

They def need to have Quarich in full Marine Armor and alot of weapons. Hot toys will sculpt his scars so good.

Nah, I think they'll definitely make Na'vi. That's what the movie was about really...
Besides, Silent Surfer said his friend had seen pics of Na'vi Jake and Neytiri.

Seeing as the film is extremely popular and will probably pass out Titanic soon, I hope it gets milked enough to generate a Jarhead Jake...plus it is so weird that Stephen Lang(Quaritch) was also Freddy Lounds in Manhunter.

I saw that movie a couple of days after I saw Avatar. I didn't even know Lang was in it. He looked rather funny with his reddish curly hair.

I could see them making Sigourney Weaver's Avatar. It could be on the same body as Neytiri's. They don't have a lot of other use for the body IMO, besides variants... and maybe Moat...

But I'm not sure if I would buy a figure of Sigourney's Avatar... Jake and Neytiri are the main Na'vi, and if I would have a bunch of other Na'vi on the shelf it would distract from them...

Believe it or not I FINALLY got to see this movie today. While the plot was something we have all seen before, it was still highly entertaining and visually my jaw was on the floor the entire movie. Can't wait to see it again.

I'm really hoping Hot Toys makes the Navi in true 1/6 scale.

Ok. I know I'm a little late on this topic but I just watched Avatar in IMAX 3D a few hours ago. It was amazing! I wasn't all that interested in HT Avatar figs before but I really really really want them now. So what did I miss?

As much as I loved the movie, none of any of the characters really stood out that made me go OH! tha'd be great in 1/6th scale. Good design but as to whether it'd make me want it on my sheld, not so much. I know I am prolly in the minority but quaritch is just another army figure with a scar (raises shields to protect himself)

I hope it will be one of the next specs & pics announcements... Of all the licences for 2010 they announced back then, only Avatar is in theatres already. So I hope we hear something really soon
