with avatar beating the titanic as the highest grossing movie of all time, I think we can count on HT to be milking the line, with multiple version of jakes, the na'vis and also the AMP suit. Not that Im complaining, mind you :rock

I cannot see an AMP suit being made at all.

Looking forward to Quatrich though!

:lecture I agree with both statements.

Although an AMP suit would be awesome, I think it would be too big of a risk for HT to make it.
A 1/6th AMP would be huge and very expensive and I think it would be very hard to nearly impossible for them to make a profit on it.

Quaritch on the other hand: YES!! :rock

They did do the Tumbler and Power Loader..it would be very similar to the power loader, mabey like 2 inch bigger. Never know with Hot toys and James Cameron in the mix!

True!

But didn't they loose money on the Tumbler eventually? I'm not sure, but I remember reading something like that :dunno

And the similarity with the powerloader... I don't know. The AMP suit seems much taller than the Powerloader, but even if it is just 2 inch taller, it still would be much bulkier with the closed cockpit. And engineering wise, I think there's a lot of things HT should have to research to get optimal poseability.

Don't get me wrong; If HT is sure they can make it and are definitely sure it will be profitable, then I'll be happy if they prove me wrong here.

But them being my favorite 1/6th figure developer, I'd hate to see them take a huge financial hit for taking on a project like the AMP suit.
I'd rather see them sticking to regular figures then.

It is significantly bigger than the Powerloader. Plus the guy is sitting inside of it and the legs are underneath it. Powerloader basically used the legs of the operator. I'd say it would be 24-25" maybe

I still think its do-able tho. They don't have to include the figure Quaitch can be a stand alone figure, and that would entice people who already have him to get the AMP suit. Especially if it comes with a second 'battle cry' head sculpt

From HT FB page:

Avatar has scored up to 9 nominations in Oscar: Art Direction, Cinematography, Directing, Film Editing, Music (Original Score), Best Picture, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects! With the stream of good news coming out on Avatar, we know that fans just can’t wai...t for our collectible figures! Stay tuned with us, we will have more update from now on!

Perhaps a teaser or preview isn't too far off...........

To me personally, I don't see the point of making a Quaritch without making the AMP suit. Not like you can "battle" display him with Na'vi twice his size. Another thing to remember, is as cool as the Tumbler was, its footprint was enormous. That's personally why i passed it up, whereas the AMP suit is more vertical and displayable.

If they release a Quarich with AMP suit i will buy it.. It will be expensive but it could wind up being my most prized piece. That be great to have The amp suit in a battle pose with Jake & Neytiri!

The last time I was this excited for a figure release was TDK Joker! I must have Hot Toys Na'vi! Can't wait!

I want a freaking neytiri and jake and i will be satified, i cannot wait for these figures !!! Nice update seems like hot toys is anxious to make these figures.
