Personally if theyre not in 1/6th scale then I wont be interested. Great for those who arent bothered about scale. But my collection is mainly 1/6th scale and I would display the Navi in and amongst my collection and it would just look weird and bug the hell out of me if there was a vertically challenged Navi in there somewhere. Even though they will be more expensive, if they look good enough and everything that I want them bad enough then I will find the money to get them.

Even if they look great, the appeal of them will diminish for me. Like I said though, thats just me. Whether theyre in scale or not though, I do hope they look great!

Wonder how they will handle the sparkly dot bits on their face and torso. A light up feature would probably cost too much, be too awkward and ofcourse you would have to switch it on to get the effect. It would also suck if the featuredidnt work or some lit up and others didnt. It would be good if they just reflected light or something to give that effect.

They could use black light reactive paint where you could barely see it at all and just turn on your black light and bingo, instant bioluminescent Na'vi.

I hope they make them atleast glow in the dark skin, man these are going to be expensive.

These puppies need to be exactly 20" to be in-scale with other 1/6 figs. I can't wait until these come out! They may not be the most expensive grail of my collection (even though they will cost around $200, I'd think), they'll certainly work as the centerpieces :D.

The scale isn't important to me. As long as they look accurate, I'd purchase them.

in scale would be nice but it isn't a deal breaker as long as they look good.

Yes i predict somwhere alont the line's of comic con. I have no idea why they are taking so long they built so much hype over these things.

People say they don't care about scale as long as they look accurate. Though if you want them to look as accurate as possible, you would have to make them to scale. If you make them any smaller than 1/6 scale it will dull out the small detail of the Navi. I hope they take their time, but I am DIEING here to see pics. Come on HOT TOYS, don't keep us waiting to long!

might this be a licensing problem after the fact of the release of the movie???....because NO ONE has heard a peep about this property and hot toys....:-/

I see your point. Bigger size = more of a canvas to work with.
However, I have to disagree. If you look at HT's past track record, you'd see that their Power Loader, Hellboy, Predator, and many others aren't exactly to scale... and I still think they look great!

Don't get me wrong.... a 1/6th Navi would look awesome. However, a smaller one (12-16") isn't a deal breaker to me.

I think a 14 inch Na'vi is more than fine scale wise. I actually think any bigger and the price point would get into the ridiculous level.
They ought to be 18", and I think how skinny they are will help keep costs down. That, and next to no accessories or clothes required.

Mate nothing will keep the costs down. If anything the new stylized body will make the costs higher no matter if it's 14 inches or 20 inches. Add to that all the intricate tribal style hair and costuming plus the detailing on the knives, bows, arrows and if it's final battle Jake his gun and grenade bandoleer. Plus the subtle skin pigmentation and depending on the version body paint. I don't even want to guess the price these figures will be. Crossing my fingers that it won't be over $200 though.

I think 14" wouldn't be tall enough. That's only 2" taller than the average 1/6 figure. Anybody who's seen the movie would look at the display and say... "They seem to short."

The most I'd spend for a truly 1/6 Na'vi (20") would be $200. That sounds reasonable. Hell, I could even settle for 18". Then again, anything above $200 for an HT figure on the primary market is unheard of, so I think that's the most HT could charge.
