I preordered this as soon as I got home, didn't want to miss Timewalker's deal on it!

I have to I'm shocked they didn't show the Mark 51 through 84. When I heard about time travel, I thought Tony was going to develop another 35 armors and go back in time over and over, and then this was going to be the final one. But literally none of them were shown, so that's a collecting relief haha.

I really don't think we'll get an accessory pack with this. I think they're going to add a bunch of accessories, that's why they just put 1 box with 'accessories' and not two boxes saying 'accessory' like for Cap.

Definitely the gauntlet, and then maybe some battle damaged parts. I could see them doing the shield, but none of the nano stuff did much in this one besides the already announced back piece.

There was a suit-up scene though. Two, in fact. The first was during the Avengers 1 time heist, when Stark gets Ant Man in position before casually diving off the tower and nano-suiting-up midair. The second was the scene where Hulk uses the gauntlet, and Stark suits up and uses the energy shield to protect himself from the gauntlet.

ah yea, fair enough, I was just hoping for one for the initial reveal of the suit, but you're right

Regarding his secret accessory,

wondering now if it will be a hand with all the stones attached, rather than the red gauntlet, since he never actually puts that on. They may save the gauntlet itself for Hulk.

No disrespect, but I don't understand why you're shocked. If this was an Iron Man solo movie then maybe that would happen, but logistically I never saw that working script-wise in a movie that was already bursting at the seams in terms of characters and story arcs that needed to be serviced.

I speculate that Mk 51 through 84 were likely attempts at making the suit capable of wielding the infinity stones. Thanos' gauntlet was made by the same cosmic beings who forged the Mjolnir and Stormbreaker. It's no small feat for a human to reach such capabilities. So to take 5 years to develop that over the Mk 50, through some 35 iterations, wouldn't be surprising. Plus the 85 doesn't seem to differ much tech wise from the 50, suggesting that no other significant enhancements were introduced in between.

The only thing is they all thought the stones were gone forever after Thanos destroyed them so there would be no reason or hope to even think about the stones. There would even be less reason to work on a suit to hold hold the stones because of that reason. Until Antman arrived 5 years later Stark was not even talking to the team.

The artist that designed Mark 85 (Phil Saunders) told me on facebook that between 50 and 85 are more like software upgrades for the nanotech rather than totally new suits.

Makes sense like a new phone or computer that looks the same as the old but is faster, better battery life, etc but has a new name or number

whats the timewalker deal??? im about to order too

What exactly is the benefit of using a website like timewalker rather than ssc?

Oh and most other places like Timewalker will double box the figure, whereas SSC will double box for an extra 10 bucks, but most times they don't because the figure is too big than apparently the one size box they're allowed to use.

I'm shocked because they gave up on the chance of merchandising 35 new armors. I didn't expect them to show every armor and take a half hour doing it, I expected a quick sequence of him trying and retrying to create the armors to defeat Thanos; like a minute.

Double boxing, free shipping, and (for me and most) no sales tax, and typically a little bit of a price break. $409.99 vs. $423+$30.67tax+$20shipping-$21.15 rewards. At minimum it's a $40 difference for me, maybe more depending on shipping and you have to spend the rewards savings there, where Timewalker just takes money off the sale.

I haven't read back that much but am I the only one who's disappointed by this armor?
more so from a movie standpoint. we didn't even get a suit up animation or any buildup to it. he literally just appeared in it behind a corridor in the avengers tower past scene. it didn't really do any cool things besides filter Thors lightning. with all that being said though...if it comes with a stark gauntlet accessory I might be forced to buy it. but aside from the gauntlet this armor did nothing for me and I'm a huge iron man fan

I still like it but I feel the MK50 is much better after seeing the movie. Honestly, I'm slightly disappointed by the movie itself. :/

I like it for the overall look but agreed Mark L in the end is the better armor. It did much much more.

I just did the same thing. First order with Timewalker.

We got the major IM fight scene in the last movie and tons of suit up scenes in the last decade. This was more about Stark than the armor. i'm happy how they did it.

It is a bit of a lol though for people who said they would skip Infinity for Endgame.. Hey, if you like an armour, get it.. don't sit around and wait for a figure in three years time.
