By lazy, I am referring to the decisions made by HT in order to either save cost or keep up with release schedules. If you look at DC Mark IV, The HS is from the Arc Reactor Tony set. For Mark L, it is the same HS as MK XLVI & XLVII. Now this Widow has basically the same HS as CW, and coincidentally their best effort for a ScarJo HS, but could they have come up with a better HS? Absolutely! Could they have come up with a better body than the same one from the Avengers? You betcha! But will they do it? They can, but they won’t. That’s what I refer to as lazy.

That’s not lazy, that’s logistics. If they where “inherently lazy” we would still be getting the same level of stuff they released in 2007. Or the same number. They have increased quality and quantity by massive amounts. I don’t see how making the very best version of a figure, and making a lot of them, is lazy. In any sense.

They would still be making heads that look like this...

Well this figure was obviously fast tracked, if its actually gonna release on the 20th now. So their main focus was 'what can we reuse? What do we have to fabricate?' It looks like they used the basic suit from Civil War with minimal modifications like the shoulder pads, the holsters and the backpack. After that, the only new molded parts are the weapons and hands.

This is the downside to releasing a product at the same time with a film cause theres no chance for adjustment at all. They're not thinking about What was the fans reaction, how can we improve, what can we add. This was in the box before the pictures ever went up.

I agree. We also have to remember that Hot Toys is a business so they also have to consider the trade-offs between profit maximization and improving their existing products to please their customers.

From a business perspective, Hot Toys may think, "If we try to further improve the CW Black Widow (e.g. head sculpt) for our Infinity Wars release, how much will it cost us? Is it worth it to spend that amount of money considering that we will probably increase sales by XX% if we make those changes? Do we have enough time to make those changes even if we think it will be profitable considering all the projects we are working on?"

Still on preorder, unless you are one of the few lucky souls (VIP members) in Japan, I guess...

You can preorder it at the show in HK right now:

That head sculpt is looking better than Scarlet is in the movie. At least you can tell it has eyebrows.

Puff, puff, DO NOT give. If whatever you're smokin is causing you to see beautiful women as being inferior to a lifeless doll I wan't nothing to do with it.

She still looks good for sure and this figure is shaping up to be pretty awesome as well. This is slated for Q4 of this year, not next year...so it’s “coming in hot” as Tony would say...

Given that A4 is a separate story and not a direct sequel, maybe we will get yet another different looking Widow next year? Just maybe?

That would be non existent eyebrows. And clearly a Photoshop and from years ago. (The back logo is a good indication). Her eyebrows are there fine. Just blonde. Blonde people have eyebrows.

It was meant as an exaggeration to show how it appears to me. I'm not sure what the age of the photoshopped image has to do with anything.

Blonde people do have eyebrows. They're usually not bleached blonde to the point that they blend into their skin color.

Yeah the VIP sales begin on the 20th. It’ll more than likely be for sale from the 23rd when the exhibit opens to the public.

I’ll be grabbing one on the 20th.

If this promo vip one is done, does that mean the more mass produced version will arrive either right on time or even possibly super early with no changes whatsoever? I hope so. I've been thinking of ordering one and if I order her and don't have to wait a year all the better.
