No way, i have the Neca one and its cool but, the details in the chest plate are very dull and rounded off which is not how its supposed to look, Hot Toys did a much better job overall on the outfit compared to Neca.

They would want to for the cost. The Neca is like a tenner.
This looks cheap IMO.

Listen, I genuinely thought this was a joke when I saw it. A custom with a Photoshop marcus head. There have been a few fakes floating around ( dx04 )!
I really can't believe that this has been officially released. Awful image, old head sculpt. Very lazy stuff. The only thing going for it is the medusa head which isn't great either.

I'm not presuming anything, I'm commenting on an officially released pic of the figure from HT? Ok? They have released it and folk are responding to this crap image. Yes crap Imho.
Of course, the final sculpt and figure may be amazing, I certainly hope so. And that is the Marcus headsculpt, I know because I have it in front of me.

You are not going to get a better Perseus in 1/6th scale from any other company.

No doubting that. HT are the masters. Just compare this to leonidas or the comedian, they look almost real. This does not look as crafted. The preview looks like a toy. I could ignore all that, this is about the head sculpt and that dodgy Photoshop job. I normally love HT previews.
Fail. IMHO.

I think maybe some might be new to this game as the 1/6 standard was nothing of this high quality around 2 or 3 years ago.
Yes the price is higher now, but if you don't like it, simply vote with your wallet

God knows?
I suppose he looked a little sadder in Avatar.
Maybe Hot Toys should go for a more depressed look.

As different as different photos of the same actor? Have a look at the posters and press shots from clash. Lots and lots of very different expressions. How about the angry stare? How about the cocky sword fight look. To say their is only one option for a headsculpt is very silly, why because he has the same haircut?

Well at least we know what HT will do for Avatar, paint Marcus blue.

im just excited to be able to get a nice representation of Perseus, its amazing how people expect companies to be perfect in this hobby and cry and whine when something is not what they wanted

I just can't imagine that HT would use the same sculpt. They have never done that before for different characters played by one actor. I'm willing to bet that they hurried out the preview pic in order to coincide with the movie's release.

HT has actually done it before. DX 02 TDK Batman. ALL of the official spec pics and ALL of the initial media photos (Tommy's blog, Milk magazine, etc.) used the v1 TDK suit with DX accessories (new heads, new chest piece, gear). We actually didn't see the final suit/figure until in-hand pics.

Not really a big deal tbh since HT has no problems changing proto figures. Drastically in some cases.

I would remind members that saying something is "crap" is not a valid opinion. It isn't helpful and can be construed as troll behaviour, especially when it is completely contrary to the popular opinion.

If you don't like something, fine - but what don't you like? Is that it is perceived to be a reuse of a headsculpt of the same actor with the same hairstyle? Okay - that's a valid argument, but hardly justifies calling a figure "crap" from a single preview image.
