I was considering it until I got the Sideshow v2 for cheap. Now with the Sideshow v2, the v1 on a HT body/HT extra head, and the DX with speeder I potentially have 3 Maul figures. Cloaked, uncloaked with Qui Gon, and one with speeder.

Let me guess. Sideshow V1 cloaked

They didn't abandon it, they reduced it to hard plastic figures with the articulation of an 80's Kenner figure.

IIRC didn't Hasbro sublicense the 12-inchers to SSC?

Yep probably cloaked Would only potentially use the v1 outfit with the HT snarling head and strategically posed. I might not have room for this to make sense anyway, but maybe an option for a potential clone wars type setup with Rex, Cody, and Grievous or something like that.

I have the V2 sideshow and love it. Can’t wait to compare these two. Anyone know if the boots on the HT are leather like material or molded plastic? Haven’t seen or heard definitively.

First shot where I’ve felt like he’s out of the movie, this instantly reminded me of the shots when Maul stares down Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan behind the force field.

Yeah, head doesn't look as wide as some of the other shots... making me think it was indeed a bit of macro warping previously. Head looks slimmer like what you like about the SS one.

I think this figure turned out really well. They should have kept him around for the whole PT. He may have been the best thing in it.

Without it in hand, I’m still curious what it actually looks like to own, one of the bloggers behind the early pics is a pro who does product shots for Hot Toys, and I admire and aspire to his quality, though the majority of his shots have been the singing head and not the neutral.

Wtf did they do to the gloves? Looks like ANH Vader all again without the oven glove-look. Otherwise it’s looking good, wonder if it’s worth getting though... Never been a huge fan of TPM and have a feeling more OT and ROTS figures are to be revealed soon. But then again, DX is something special in it self, not many other Star Wars editions out there yet...

No but his chest is a little too thick and sticking out which is the effect of the HT fatsuit
