Agreed, that figure is great. For what it's worth (not much I know) it's the only female fig my g/f approves of b/c of how well it holds it's own on display

James Franco is a very cute actor. The New Goblin figure looks to be well made. Nevertheless it was an awful choice for Hot Toys to waste its efforts on, as was Abagail Whistler.

I can honestly say I have enjoyed both your messages today.

1: No, I haven't. I've had no interest in "getting back at you". There is only one member on the board I can think of that I have any real enmity towards, and it isn't you.
2: Yes, James Franco is a handsome guy, and the Goblin was a major character in the Spider Man films with a lot of neat accessories for the figure, so I actually think it's a neat figure, however, my only question about that choice is, why didn't the do a Willem Dafoe GREEN Gobiln first?? I think that Willem Dafoe has a more interesting face than James Franco, and the Green Goblin is a more important character. I think the Hobgoblin was worthy of being made but not BEFORE the Green Goblin... I guess some of the people at Hot Toys really wanted a James Franco figure NOW! As far as Abigail Whistler, I think she was picked because she was played by Jessica Biel, and they wanted a female figure that was a hero from the movies that would sell. She has a bow, and other neat weapons, so , "chicks with guns", you know. I believe that was the thinking. What other Marvel female movie character do you think would have been a better choice?

That release was such a bizarre choice of character that I completely forgot about it. If she is part of the Marvel Universe outside the films, then she had been deliberately put out to pasture by the 1980's.

But do you feel so much having corrected me?

for the record,

David S. Goyer was going to add Rachel Van Helsing from the Tomb of Dracula comics in the movie, but then he heard about the movie Van Helsing and decided against it. He ended up creating the character of Abigail in her place.

So technicly, Abigail Whistler is a New Line3 cinema character, and not a Marvel character.

I'm not arguing that Marvel owns the rights to her.

But they didn't create her. thus, not "really" a marvel character.
additionally, I doubt she's ever made any appearance in universe 616.
and a lack of comic appearances makes her not a "REAL" marvel character.
But i'm just picking nits now .

I think her HT figure was very well done, but at the same time I agree she was a poor choice. We should have got a Deacon Frost or her father Whistler light years ahead of her.
