Just opened my Mark IV. Nice figure although when I opened the rear flap on his "calf" area on the left leg the internal detailed parts had "cloudy" white dry residue crap all over and it looked at first like the internal parts hadn't been painted.

I was able to get a Q-Tip and rub it off gently to reveal the details which were painted fine, not sure what this was but it came off, no damage done.:yess:

The countermeasure dispenser pops out every time I look at the figure but they go back in OK.

Nice figure.

i think they don't one guy was saying they should in another forum but i agree someone should be managing these figures

Having people to go over every single figure is crazy expensive. You need to have someone competent enough to know what to look for and pay them enough to care. I have never heard of anyone doing that with a manufactured product. The best you can do is spot checks, which most companies do.

As far as problems go, I have a few but they're no big deal and the amazing aspects of the figure far outweigh it. I have one serious and fixable complain that I'll get to in a second. So like many others, my flaps won't lay flat. I do think that's more of a design flaw than anything though. I have repeatedly bent them and the best I have gotten is a little better than the sticking way out that they did when I first put them on. I am debating just taking out the metal parts as I never plan on having the flaps deployed. I also have that same problem with the left hip countermeasure device popping out. It goes back in easily though and only pops out when I move the leg around. I'm kinda glad it does that though because I would have never figured out how to get them to pop out or that they even popped out because of my third problem, the serious one. There's no instructions with this at all. Are they just missing or are they simply not included? Instructions would be very useful as a lot of things on this figure aren't immediately apparent or easy to do. Like the hip devices or replacing the arm parts for the missiles.

Comparing the mkII and mkIII to War Machine, they still hold up pretty well. The mkII especially. The all brushed aluminum look works so much better on that mold than the red and gold. I think because it doesn't break up the appearance it makes it look bulkier and not so skinny. The mkII also has a better finish than the mkIII (non-BD) and the rivets are cool.

Compared to the mkIV though, the mkII and III don't hold up nearly as well. The proportions are so much better. It lacks the too wide shoulders, the wasp waist, the long monkey arms. Mostly notably from the side the mkIII mold is very flat or thin. When you look at the mkIV in profile everything looks right. The finish is of course far far better and my favorite part, the articulation is leaps and bounds better. Actually not all the articulation is better. Pretty much all of it is identical to the mkIII, which is great because the mkIII has great articulation except in one crucial area, the torso. The mkIV now has about the same range of motion in the torso as a nude TrueType which is amazing and great. Finally a high quality Iron Man figure that can really do some dynamic poses.

great pics chigger....what camera do you use?

Most of you will probably laugh but I'm using a Canon Powershot SD870 IS Digital Elph, 8 Megapixels...that's it. Just a point and shoot but I've been experimenting with it like crazy trying to figure out how to get the most out of it.

You can see the journey of my experience with it in my collection thread (plug!). I've been going back and snapping photos of my collectibles as a whole and individually. Really enjoying doing it, lots of time and effort but it adds another level to the collecting fun. I really enjoy the feedback (good or bad) so please check it out and tell me they blow or whatever. Would appreciate it...

Classic! :hi5:

The "foot" is nice, it's no Shrek...but doily FTW! :chew

Much thanks! Where directions supposed to come with it and I just didn't get them for some reason?

Chigger58: If you're experimenting with a Powershot I'd highly suggest downloading the CHDK. It opens up a lot of options. That's how I took pics with my Powershot 560 for years until I got the DSLR I use now.

Instructions paper would be together with the small "transparent plastic stick"... used for poping out parts

Yeah, I didn't get instructions. Weird. I took everything out including that piece and looked through the box and various pieces thinking maybe it was trapped under a box flap or in between two tray pieces.

Speaking of, I really like the tray construction on this one.

Are the air flaps removable once they're attached?

You can pull them out fairly easily.

I was messing around with the air flaps and I bent the metal flaps so now the whole thing rests flat on his back. It kept popping up as the metal was touching those metallic protruding pistons or whatever on his upper back.

This figure is awesome. My first Iron Man fig after War Machine...Love it so much I ordered 2 of the MarkVI straight away from ABC express.
