Or one could be polite and just help out people who haven't read all 540 pages of the thread. Either way. :)

this is true which is why I have done that several times...plus, one only needs to look maybe a page or two back to find this topic being discussed

however, if it wasnt mentioned by every other person who got this figure there would probably be half as many pages lol

I think what's being said, or at least what I am saying… is to buy something at retail price for no other reason than to re-sell it at a higher price isn't a great thing to do. To buy something because you want it, eventually loose interest in it and resell it to someone who wants it now at market value is a different thing entirely.

Also, "investing" in collectable items be it antiques, paintings, or action figures isn't really a great way to make money. The market is far too volatile and unpredictable and even when you do make good, you get much better returns on other sorts of investments.

Well said! Art and such are too unpredictable- alot of times you end up selling for LESS than what you paid, However Hot Toys currently is bucking the trend- see what Joker and Batman DX are doing- HUGE jumps in price and people ARE paying. See other HT figures rising quite abit lately- the market on these is very HOT (heh heh) right now...

It seems to be the switch. I can see the LED flicker a bit when I wiggle the switch, but it never goes out. I'm going to see if I can put back in the plastic to block the batteries. Otherwise those batteries will go out in a few weeks.

Okay, taking out the batteries and then putting them back in seems to have fixed that problem.

Now I just have to figure out which paint to use to fix up the scratches in the red that make mine a defect. HA! Just kidding, I know they're supposed to be there.

But seriously, the upper back air flaps on mine need some adjusting, they don't close all that neatly.

After finding the weathering/battle damage was supposed to be there and fixing the arc reactor problem I have to say I really like this one. It's much brighter than the Mark III, which was a really nice figure too. The IV has much better waist articulation and the fully articulated fingers are brilliant. It's just too bad those hands can bend up enough to give a good repulsor showing; only a minor complaint. I'm putting it in the shelf now.

And how much is the MKIII, the first Joker, or a lot of their other figures. A few exceptions a rule does not make. True, in general, their figures do sell for more, in the immediate future after their release…_but how long will that trend maintain? No one can really predict that.

Don't buy art or toys as investments. Buy them because you like them.

On the subject of people thinking the scratches are actual product damage, I hope people keep thinking that. It makes me smile.

Never mind figured it out EVERYTHING IS FINE "FALSE ALARM" it is apparent that the torso extends and can extend a bit and then can be pushed back down when up right i think that is the way it was made for that power punch in the kneeling position he does. Unbelievable radical figure def a keeper I am getting all of them.

:lol Glad you posted this.

I had a feeling you just had the waist extended. ;)

Just out of curiosity, I noticed there were some big crease marks on the front shiny cover of the box which I guess occurred during shipping. Did anyone else get these and for the ones that didn't have any, where did you purchase your mark iv?

Yeah, I got creases (folds/wrinkles) on mine too.

So how do you explain MOC collectors? Is there any purpose leaving the items MOC other than so they keep or increase in value to be sold later? (Not being sarcastic)

A lot of toys look better displayed MOC. I have a nearly complete rouges gallery from Batman the Animated Series that I wouldn't think of taking out of the packagins as they look much better with the card.

But with toys that come in collector friendly packaging I still don't understand why someone wouldn't open them... I started a thread about that a while back.

It is all in the art of it : ) I too thought heck what is this,... his waist is really loose and then I saw that the waist could extend and retract and I thought hey now that is innovative! only way they could figure to do it for the super extreme poses. Although mine will be doing none of those incase i decided to resell him once he goes up in price. One pose static in the Detof nuff said.

The extendable waist isn't only good for extreme poses. It's just nice to have the option to bend at the waist even for simple poses:

What the deuce? Mine came with small flakes of silver painted on it. Anyone else have this?

Good lord, I hope you're kidding...

WHEW! :lol

Seriously though, I don't get why people are thinking that's a defect. It seems pretty clear that it's intentional paint aps. And it really adds to the realism of the figure. :dunno

When I first put my flaps in, the right one stayed perfectly flush when closed and the left one stuck out about a quarter of an inch. That's not an exaggeration. It's just a matter of getting the metal flaps underneath to conform to the plastic flaps. The instructions says not to bend these, but you have to ignore that. It took about 2 minutes of bending and fine tuning to get the metal and plastic flaps to meet just right. Now the flaps on both sides sit perfectly. :)

I'm convinced that this will work with any Mark IV. If your flaps don't sit flush, get to bendin'!

The waist/torso articulation really is great. It's kind of shocking how good it is after having War Machine. War Machine /looks/ like it should have really good articulation because of the separate overlapping plates. It is better than any of the figures from the first film but still not great and not nearly as good as the MKIV.

Where have you been?

What do you mean? I don't follow.

I wouldn't I also wouldn't bet there isn't although I would lean slightly towards not unless the "nearish future" is the summer of 2012.
