Anyone else have trouble with the forearm gun plates?

Everything is there with mine, but one of the little doors was loose. I had to glue it in place and got a little glue on the paint job.

Then the plates don't fit very well, and while trying to coax them into place another door fell off. Had to glue that one too, and despite my best efforts I got more glue on the paint job. :gah:

Never did get the plates to sit perfectly either...

Ho... Sorry to hear that, Mag.
I'll see when I get mine (maybe tomorrow, who knows?).
... But if you continue, you will make us a "Glued Man"... :lol
Well, I'm kidding, but that's just to try to change you ideas, you know... :1-1:
But seriously: what kind of glue did you use? Have you damaged the painting by trying to wipe?

I used super glue on the tip of a tooth pick. Tried my best to be neat but oh well.

I tried removing it with nail polish remover, but I think I only accomplished smearing it around. Either that or it was breaking down some kind or clear coat, so I left it as it is. It's really not that noticeable and the regular plates are mint so it's not a huge deal.

I'll take a picture of what I'm talking about later.

Yeah, it was rattling on delivery. Once I opened the box one of the main 3 rocket sections flap was off. A few sections rattling outside of the clear holders.

Gorilla glue to the rescue. Blends in with the paint when dry.

Hmm, I'll have to invest in that.

Is it this stuff?

or this stuff?

The one on the left. Comes with the remover.

You should have asked. If that was just pure acetone it'll damage it like what you've started to encounter. Acetone free is a lot safer but it's also known to effect plastics but acetone will eat through both the paint and plastic dependent how much was used or left too long.

How is that any different than any other super glue?

Yeah, I used the acetone kind.

I didn't say it was special. Most dry crystalized looking or some can easily break again like you mentioned. The first one you displayed is for wood. The other I think is the same as the small bottles but you ran into the problem of smearing it. If you had the remover, you could have got rid of the excess and started again.

Just my two top missle plates for both arms don't snap in well enough but all the others do snap in pretty good.

And yes, I also broke off one of those tiny missle flaps, not even going to try and glue it, too small :lol

Hey the same thing happened to me with my Mark IV!That tiny missle flap was loose right from the get and i kept F'N with it and it fell off.I glued it with some contact cement that's made for plastics and it worked like a charm so i put a little glue on all of them just in case.

well hot toys just sent me an email regarding my defective figure (red pins on left waist don't go back in). they want me to mail the figure back to hong kong for a replacement but they made no mention of reimbursing shipping fees and shipping to hong kong ain't cheap. i emailed them back asking them, but does anyone here know their policy?

You didn't buy from an authorized retailer?

I have the same issue on mine. However I played around with it some and got them to go back in. I found depending on how I move the leg they sometimes pop back out, but then I just twist it around some more and can get them to go back in.
Try playing around with it some.
Seems like it would be a pain to send back.

I think all of them have a tendency to pop out like that. And I agree, fiddling around with them gets them to stay eventually.

Poor design, but workable.

i bought from urban-collector.com
they don't take returns on manufacturer defects. they said i have to go through hot toys. only reason i bought from them was because they were the cheapest.

believe me, i've tried getting them back in, but they just keep popping back out with the slightest movement. it's a real pain in the ***.

Seriously? That's poor CS. Alterego handled an exchange for me by simply contacting SS to see if they had any stock left for exchanges.

Same here :) they said SS will directly send me the replacement within 6-8 business days :impatient:

Note to self: do not buy from urban-collector

From BBTS website:

"Defective items: If you receive an item that has a manufacturer's defect we are happy to ship a replacement. Please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order. BBTs will cover all shipping fees to and from our warehouse on defective items. Defective items may only be exchanged for the same item. Please note that this return policy applies only to shipped items you have received."

This is just another reason why BBTS is my go-to store for my figures.

Hmm... interesting. I bought mine from BBTS. Wonder if I should try and get replacement arm gun plates...
