except the inaccuracies
this alien is great ,I agree with that
but it just can be a HOT TOYS alien ,not a GIGER ALIEN or BIG CHAP ALIEN from any movie.
Many collectors in China also complained about this piece.
well,at least it proved HT fail on Alien figure again …… gth

This is exactly what the "whiners" are saying.
You summarized it perfectly. :cool:b

Too bad a few others can't see past their ignorance.
Oh well...

It's. A. Toy.

...just sayin' ;)

I like Darren; he's often the voice of reason!

You see life is so very full, most is good, but a lot is crap. In any given day we have to deal with work, taxes, mortgages, dealing with deadlines, chasing invoices, phoning clients who have no idea of the processes of your industry, picking kids up from school on time, helping with home work, self imposed deadlines to write reviews about toys, cooking dinner, forgetting your umbrella on the day it decides to piss down, realising there are only 14 days... YES 14 DAYS, left till Christmas and you have bought like two presents and your 5 year old really wants a GO GO Hamster and there are none to be found.

So, my collecting habit is what kind of keeps me sane... mostly (obviously the love of a good woman and two fantastic kids goes a long way as well).

I'm not blind, or stupid, I can see this is not the perfect A L I E N from the movie, but I look at it and it makes me happy. The figures I collect and write about do actually make me happy... why else would I bother with it as a hobby.

So, I'm not having a go at those that are hardcore xenophiles, but perspective is great thing. And this figure still makes me smile when I look at it... I just wish I had it already.

I'd agree perspective is a great thing, but whose perspective?

One could argue you have a great deal of distractions to enhance your personal enjoyment, whilst others, who do not have those particular ones, find disappointment that the best figure company has once again let them down, when they know they could do better, have done better, and yet when it came to their last hope, failed. Not miserably, but so close to the mark. It is not a dissension, rather a frustration and an ultimate loss of hope.

As hardcore xenophiles they may have other representations to console them and hold their pleasure of collecting, and in future days gone by, reminisce on the big one that got away.

They weren't waiting for a toy. They were looking forward to a collectible. The course of the thread will change. The Alien will arrive, and those that receive it will post their pictures and revel in their purchases regardless of inaccuracies. Argument will continue, discussions will be held, derailments will occur. Such is collecting.

....has once again let them down, when they know they could do better, have done better, and yet when it came to their last hope, failed.

jesus man, you make it sound like HT is the only way collectors are going to survive in this world, and without this figure we're all doomed to die.

:rotfl:rotfl:rotfl

Y'know I thought about it but instead of that I think I'll wait till someone does one properly one day, probably NECA. :D But Failien that :)rotfl), I'm more into Terminator than Alien anyway and I'm thrilled (Yes very POSITIVE) about whats being made for that particular franchise by NECA and I'm even sure Hot Toys won't let us down on that one.

This unfortunately is the nature of the hobby. it brings out the obsessives who have nothing better to think about in their lives but sit in front of a computer 24/7 whining about teeth and domes being wrong, hair the wrong shape etc etc I mean, we all have nits about products that come out, but creating a long running arguement about the fact and dissing the sculptor and company for ruining their lives as a result is pretty sad.
I don't mean to be rude but I am blunt. The peeps in question need to take a step back and smell the beans. Possibly re evaluate life and where it is heading coz if crying endlessly over how a product has come out is all you have to ocupy your time, then I pity you.

Who ever claimed Hot toys have 'ruined their lives' with this?? You 'non-complainers' are as guilty of exaggeration as the whiners with statements like that.

Any opinion is welcome in this thread as long as it revolves around attacking this figure and anyone else is crazy or stupid misguided.

Like I said it all comes down to anyone who doesn't think this figure is third rate being categorised as a sad misguided individual who doesn't know anything and whose obviously looking for trouble.

i'm one of those who genuinely like the ht alien. i have seen it in person, up close and from all angles, so i know what i'm talking about. and i have expressed my defence of this figure without being called "crazy, stupid or misguided". it's all in the approach, man.

although i like the figure and think it's a good representation of the alien, i can concede that this figure does indeed have a number of issues. and while i agree that the constant whining can be pretty tiresome, this IS a public forum and thus a venue for ALL opinions to be aired, good or bad. personally, i can accept and respect differing viewpoints, even if they are repeated endlessly. it's part and parcel of online forums.

when u come here and start attacking people right away, do u honestly expect them to take it quietly? it's not "fascism", it's simply cause and effect. u caused a ruckus, the effects are folks slam u in return.

play nice, and we'll (well most of us) will return the favour. it's true.

:peace

We've all seen enough pics at this point to know by now that Hot Toys, for whatever reason, did not make a highly movie accurate Giger Alien. If that bothers you, don't buy the figure. If it doesn't, buy the figure. It's really quite simple. To continue to beat a dead horse at this point is really more of a reflection of those who choose to do so than Hot Toys themselves.

great. now people are arguing about who complains the most.

I'm actually sitting with my fingers in my ears going 'la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la' till it all stops.....

Find a happy place!
Find a happy place!
Find a happy place!
Find a happy place!
Find a happy place!

The back and forth bickering is futile. We'll never agree.

Umm...so how about that backdrop?
Seems like The Godfather one was a hit, and now they're starting to show up more and more. (1st ALIEN & now IM)

Hopefully HT will offer separate 3D backdrops someday! :D
They've already started with better stands/dioramas.
BAF backdrops would be even better when it's a large assortment of figures (like AVP, TDK and TS)
That way we could all say goodbye to our DETOLFs, and hello to shelling out even more for bigger shelves. (I wouldn't mind in the least)

Hopefully they'd be in the same price range as ED-209, The Power Loader, and the Tumbler.

Ok pal. If you choose to interpret that in the literal sense thats your problem. Carry on moaning son who cares. Beyond the initial pics these hot toys threads always descend into farce. I've made my point. I like it you don't trot on and peace
:peace

My point is you guys are generalising (and I don't just mean you). You see someone complaining about something, you don't happen to agree with his point of view so you accuse him of doing nothing but complaining, you wrongly assume he does it in every thread and has nothing positive to say about anything, that he lives his life complaining. Thats a load of crap, sorry 'son'. Theres no way you can back it up with evidence and if you tried you'd find a lot of positive, praising sentiments from me in other threads. Hot toys messed up the alien and I don't like the figure but this is an exception rather than the rule.
