I'd settle for a tease of T-1000 to talk about, but I have a feeling we're going to hit a quiet time in the T2 line, we'll get T-800 and Sarah in the next few months, then over summer, once HT's cashed in on the Iron Man 2 hype enough, they'll come back to T2 figures, plus this T-800 will be well sold out by then so they can be sure a BD figure won't affect sales of this one negatively.

I'm sure this has been discussed previously, but just to have something slightly on-topic to discuss, are people planning on buying both the regular and inevitable battle damaged versions? I'm not sure that I need two figures of this character from this film. . .

I'm buying both. I prefer the clean version, but would also like to display the BD version with the handgun and grenade gun, just before he gets his arm ripped off by the gear.

I'll buy pretty much anything T1 and T2 related from Hot Toys. I'd even buy the flashback terminator from T1.

I'm the same, but I do know some collectors would probably prefer just the BD one, but might buy this first one simply because it's all that's made at the moment, and if the BD showed up before this one shipped, they might cancel their orders. HT's played this game before, wait until something's well sold out before unveiling a new figure that could compete with the old one.

The problem I have is, I'm sure the battle damaged version will look cooler, but if you want one iconic representation of Arnold from the film, I think you get that with the "clean" version. My instinct is to try and get both myself, but I'm really trying to cut down on the OCD collecting behavior, and to keep things to the bare minimum so far as I can.

I'd say spring for the BD version if you're that sure it'll come out. Usually, those seem to come with much more kit -- not to mention those are the most likely to be given an exclusive by SS (i.e, HT BD Predator 2, HT Final Battle John Connor, etc.)

@Nam: You gotta admit, it's better than spending $500-$600. Plus as long as he can hold at least one weapon at a time, like the other Preds, I have no problem whatsover. Worth it, IMO. And it's a much-welcomed dent :D. Not that I consider it a dent at all. I'm... so... happy...!

When I think of Terminator 2, the first image that pops in my head is Arnold with the sunglasses riding the bike. I think that's the most iconic look that jumps out at people the most.

On the other hand, if you had the battle damaged version, it would do better to demonstrate the "terminatorness" of the figure due to the exposed endoskeleton parts showing.

It's a tough call.

Since the chances of an HT young Connor aren't high, I could see a Sideshow exclusive for a BD T-800 being something like the severed T-800 arm.

I'm on the cusp. I was one of the freaks who updated my Sideshow T-800 along the way and am perfectly happy with how he looks to not be so overwhelmed by the HT one that Sideshow's suddenly becomes irrelevant. That said, he is an awesome figure, is currently resting in Preorder, and definitely worth it. Hopefully HT will preview the Battle Damaged version soon. If the BD's more appealing, he's the one I'd prefer.

I thought that was confirmed. Did that turn out to just be another douchy wish list thing?!

I'm trying to keep my OCD collecting within the confines of licenses I know I am definitively invested in, those being the same licenses I've enjoyed since childhood. Anything else I'm trying to reduce or cut out completely.

I'm definitely planning to get both from HT. I'm contemplating picking up the HT jacket later to put on my Sideshow T-800. In the end, I'll use Sideshow's to display riding my Harley, the Sideshow pants will work fine enough to look decent, but the jacket really sucks so if I can get the HT one cheap enough, I'll update that part. I'll use HT figures for non-Harley representations. T2's an all time favorite movie of mine, so I'm interested in the many looks of T-800 from T2.

Nope, he directed piranha 2 and im pretty sure he wrote the screenplay as well. Terminator salvation was great for what it was, a big budget action film.
get you fact straight. cameron was originally hired as the fx guy for piranha2. someone else was already directing the film. when he left, cameron took over. the crew spoke no english, the producer got the final say on everything, and cameron was not allowed to see his footage nor allowed to enter the editing room.

the only time cameron's let loose and allowed to be free, the result was the first terminator film. and that film is still a million times better than mcg's last hackjob.

Uh.... doesn't that mean that he still directed it? :huh:lol
