That already happened. And HT use their licensing rights to shut them down. They now try to obtain exclusive rights when it comes to 1/6 and 1/4 scale.

That is an issue, if Hot Toys keeps securing rights to properties you want to collect. No matter how many c*ck-ups or short-cuts they make, they still have the manufacturing power to attract those properties.

When there's no more competition, you don't have to compete anymore.

Agreed. Which is what is happening right now.

They panicked and went full retard with the announcement of Die Cast like a year or so ago, when Play Imaginative announced that they were going to produce 1/6 Iron Man figures.

Then after PI dropped the ball, suddenly not all IM figures are Die Casts :lol

This happened quite a few times with EB as well.

EVA foam, which looks like what's used to hold the weapons in the armory, will not beak down - it's pretty stable and very durable, unless Hot Toys found a way to undo what everyone else has been doing for decades with this material.

Would not surprise me.

Well, that's good to know.

Why is anyone guessing that this will be out earlier than planned? Do you think HT is trying to catch people before they cancel their pre-orders? This thing is going to sell out soon enough, regardless of how much turn-over there is between now and the release date.

Some HK sellers on Ebay gave a Aug 14th release date..might be bogus but I was always thinking HT might release this earlier than October..

So long as it's not due to lighting, parts of the breastplates and ab plates on the figure do appear to be gray, which is consistent to the suit in The Dark Knight. The armory is from that movie. Below is a promo pic from TDK.

The DX02 had similarly-colored breastplates, seeing as it was the suit from TDK. DX12 was the suit from The Dark Knight Rises. I'm kind of surprised Hot Toys remembered the difference.

that's what I was thinking. I was anticipating a DX12 body just being thrown in
