That already happened. And HT use their licensing rights to shut them down. They now try to obtain exclusive rights when it comes to 1/6 and 1/4 scale.
That is an issue, if Hot Toys keeps securing rights to properties you want to collect. No matter how many c*ck-ups or short-cuts they make, they still have the manufacturing power to attract those properties.
When there's no more competition, you don't have to compete anymore.
Predator is out. What's left? Just Robocop and this?
It's coming
EVA foam, which looks like what's used to hold the weapons in the armory, will not beak down - it's pretty stable and very durable, unless Hot Toys found a way to undo what everyone else has been doing for decades with this material.

Everyday I wake up hoping this is out.
Why is anyone guessing that this will be out earlier than planned? Do you think HT is trying to catch people before they cancel their pre-orders? This thing is going to sell out soon enough, regardless of how much turn-over there is between now and the release date.

is it just me or do the chest and ab plates seem lighter than the DX12?

Certain plates on the suit were lighter in The Dark Knight. The armory is from that movie. The DX02 had similar coloring, it was TDK, DX12 was TDKR. I'm kind of surprised Hot Toys remembered the difference.
