It doesn't even look like that poor Chewie can even hear . . . or see.

Maybe it's because previously from HT we saw that Indy (which was way worse than this), and an original prototype that looked nothing like Han. So something here that's about 60% Ford looks really excellent in comparison

But your post is actually planting a seed of doubt in my mind. I remember the wishful thinking I held out for Indy after seeing the solicitation pics, and it was just that. I ended up using a repainted SSC head, and still use it to this day. Damn it!

Sucks, man. Even has the same off-center chin. I'll never be able to see Han as anything other than DX-Han now.

This is like a cruel inside-joke going down at Chan HQ. They're laughing right now.

I don't think they're the same, but there is definitely something cartoony and non-human about it.


Honestly, what is so great about this new revision for Han? I'm just staring at my screen looking at all these SDCC pics and I just don't see it. If anything, this Hot Toys one looks like the love child of the SS Hoth Han and the HT DX Indy. He has these huge freakin' pupils/iris section that are centered and dark (their Keaton Bruce Wayne has the same soul less eyes), a goofy looking mouth that reminds me of the DX 12 Batman faceplate that everyone ripped.

What puts it at the top for people? I'm genuinely curious. I think the Hot Toys Princess Leia and Luke (especially the trooper one with the eyes looking to the right) blows this goofy looking sob out of the water. Those two are great, Han though?

Yeah I have to agree about that old Sideshow Han being much better than the HT, at least from a distance.

That looks a helluva lot like the DX05 Indy sculpt!!!!

DX Indy repaint sans guyliner and five o'clock shadow with new hairpiece. All the hallmarks of Harrison Bord.

Sorry, but that Sideshow version is nowhere near as good as this Hot Toys release. The Sideshow version looks like Asian Han (granted, that was likely done in production, as Trevor is amazing.)

I know that Sideshow keeps a lot of their sculpts generic in their look, but I really think this would've benefited from a smirk, or just that cocky look that Han has throughout episode one. The adjusted hairline fixes him up from the prototype, at least. Still on the fence as to whether to order this one or just hold out for the Empire version.

I'm thinking more and more of waiting for an Empire version. May check this one out in hand though. Probably only need two Hans ultimately and I already have the Hoth figure so part of me would rather have ANH covered too but I'm just not that sold on this sculpt the way I am Leia for example.

I could see getting cold feet on this set and waiting for the next iteration from Empire. $480 US is big money to get something kind of wishy-washy like these two. Of course it means losing yet another NRD since I put it on flex.

And you're right, Luke and Leia are the level I'd expect all the sculpts to be at (well, maybe not all as good as Leia -- that is a 10/10, IMO). Han and Obi are middling while Chewie is a wait-and-see. Unlike seemingly everyone else here I'm happy w/Vader.

honestly the ford sculpt is mostly just ok looking. It looks good at certain angles, but mostly for me its those eyes that ruin it. As for chewie i should have known they wouldnt pull it off with real fur.

except the fur is not the problem. the sculpt is. I don't think a single person has complained about the body. It looks great. The fur on the head is weaker but still not bad. Its that mouth, nose and eyes that are killing. I can live with the eyes being too close together and the nose looking like a sticker they just placed there, but my god that mouth is atrocious!

I like the Han Solo. I don't see that it's the PERS Indy except they are both sculpts of the same actor.

I see more Ford for sure than the previous sculpt but there's no denying for me that the new sculpt has something cartoony about it. It doesn't seem to fit in really with Luke, Leia and even Ben (who looks ultra realistic but with only hints of Guiness).

Yeah. I wish they all looked as much like their real-world counterpart as Leia. I think Luke is the next closest. Then Han v2... and last Ben, who despite having white hair does not look like an old man.

Yeah, Leia and Luke are the real stand-outs for me. Hoping that they are not tweaked at all. If they want to change up Luke's highlights or whatever, that's fine, but I hope they do not fiddle with the sculpt.
