I think these are just outstanding! I'm amazed at how many different looks the same figure can have. I keep falling off and getting back on the fence. But if the figure can really look this good, I'm falling off again.

How is this sorcery possible? Is qui-gon-fishing using the Living Force?

QuiGon's photos are outstanding, but I don't know that I see these details in my figure, certainly not to this degree. Part of it is just the size of the image of course, but if all those fine details are there on my figure, then they're much more subtle in hand.

Got my set yesterday evening. As stated, great set but the boots are a joke.

can you post the photo you're referencing? The droid caller does have an open end on one side.

I fully looked at reference photos after I posted that and from what I remembered it was smooth on the end and had no hole. In pics he has it on both ways, flat end front and hole end front. On the ss version I believe there was a cap and on the UU one it was flat on both ends. I guess the one open end is accurate.

Did the boot mod and I am happy with the results.

To add to the AWESOME idea...

1. Make sure the cardboard isn't too thick. I discovered many different thicknesses of several wrapping paper rolls. Don't use a toilet paper roll and don't use the craft paper like roll.
2. Make sure the cardboard makes a "complete circle" around the inside of the boot. Otherwise the corers will poke the boot from the inside out with some poses. A faint gap is also apparent to the critical eye as a "line indention" in the boot if you leave a gap.
3. Make sure you tuck the cardboard behind the plastic foot in the boot. Push it down there good otherwise it will ride up when you try to put the boot on.
4. Cut the little corners of the paper roll ever so slightly. They corners tend to want to snag the pants as you are fitting the boot.

Hope this helps someone as it originally helped me.

Looks great, Creighton. Gotta try this mod.

This duo has definitely elevated my display. Gotta agree with Wor-Gar here that Han, even though I don't think he's a home run, is just set to go right out of the box (except the boots).

Here's the current display (that's a fake short trooper).

Creighton...

Gonna try that boot mod this weekend...it's the only HUGE thing about this figure that's driving me crazy. I like the material and the look the pleather is giving, but that scrunched-up, deformed heel is the worst. I hope I hit the level of success you have here...looks really good.

Now...I'm still not at the "this figure rocks" stage with this one, but I did snap a couple of quick shots to try and appreciate what HT has given us here...

Is it Ford? Really depends on the light and display conditions. It's a typical HT high-quality production here...great paint and detail...but....

...like many other figures it's just....not quite there. That's not to say it doesn't look good. The outfit is stellar (really like the correct color shirt for the first time) and the base body is still one of the best for achieving a "natural" stance or pose (man o man I wish Sideshow would ditch the pro for something like this).

As I sit here giving it a good stare, it's getting there for me. Looking forward to more pics with him over the weekend. Won't be surprised if after that, I'm back here crowing with the rest of ya....

Keep the pics coming, folks...always looking for that "right pose" that's often provided in here.... :)

The cardboard will certainly "give" as you pose and eventually wrinkle up more. However, Im posing mine rigid in hope that it will straighten out the material over time. The boots were extremely smushed and Im hoping for a miracle with them. Im not springing for a new set either.

Nice pics, jedibear! :clap

It a terrible disservice that no one can seem to capture the accurate color of the HT shirt. It was a pleasant surprise that they did it, wish it would photograph as it appears.

I totally feel you. I can't believe how smushed the boots were out of the package! They were literally flat as a pancake.
I tried foam from an art brush, even building up a "natural" ankle around the long pegs with stiff foam, cotton, tape, and partial cardboard and finally realized that the circle cardboard is the only hope for half way decency in there case. I really hope the regain their shape over time.

anyway, nice pics!

Thanks, Wor-Gar...yes, that was the best surprise here...a small thing maybe, but seeing that shirt like I remember it really gives this figure a good bump.

Got Old Ben today too...just too beat after a long shift to pull him out of the box tonight. A real treasure trove of OT goodness this week, that's for sure!
