Which Newline boots are those?

I wasn't aware they made anything similar to what Han wore.

I'm pretty sure they were German officer boots. They were brown though and had cuffs I had to remove. I also had to paint them black with watered down acrylics. They are spotty though, and look more worn than the stock boots, which I like.

Ah, okay. I've had a few pairs for various black Newlines and DID boots and none of them are quite right. The Newlines have a wide, rounded toe box, the DIDs are really bunchy around the ankle, and they have the studs on the bottom. It's too bad HT couldn't figure out how to get it done.

I have a pair of the brown boots from the VTS Explorer set, that I think are the only ones made in 1/6 that are the right style. The problem being they're brown, and they're really tight, so it's hard to stick a foot down there.

How is the Ford finger not included with every Han or Indy figure? Maybe they'll use the Spacetrooper one for the Han trooper.

I bought three or four from Toy Anxiety years ago, in anticipation of this figure.

Good call. Let me know if any particular one seems perfect. I'm use a Snake Plissken (flesh tone not exact, but it's also a bit small compared with the other hands).

I have been playing with him and his counterpart since last Friday and I have to say I love him. That being said, I have some serious gripes but J.H.C. I have been playing Han Solo in my real life since I saw the first SW at 6 yrs old.

Here are some pics... then my gripes:

Alright, so first off, addressing the universal "Dead Stare" comment that is about, the best pose I found for him was to have his gun oustretched in front of him like he was aiming, a lot like that promo pic of him and Chewey firing their weapons in front of the Falcon from years back. Then it looks like he is dead-stare-killer as opposed to lifeless doll.

My biggest gripes come from the hair sculpt being a bit lack-luster in both shape and especially paint, as well as the pleather of the holster and boots being noticeably artificial (in color and pattern). My boots were as bad as everybody's but I have had him in a semi-crouch action pose like in my pics and the boots are already not as bad as they were out of the box.

That freaking left wrist joint is killing me. It seems no matter how I position him, it is so obvious that it makes him look almost "femmy" as there seems to be a kink from his forearm to his hand.

I can look past all of these things though as on my desk right now, I have H.S. pointing a blaster at me.

BTW, I really liked the pic with him and Greedo sitting in the Cantina, made me wish I had a Greedo and the Cantina dio set SS put out when I saw that.

^^Not seeing any of your photos on tapatalk by the way (edit: see them now).

And yeah the wrist pegs might be the worst thing--they're really big and both the hands and wrists are so large that swapping pegs might not improve things, but I'll give it a try.

I noticed one thing that's funny about shadowing the eyes completely with this figure is it makes it look more like the V1 sculpt as you notice the furrowed brow which doesn't match the new eye expression.

Mine arrived in Adelaide, Australia on Tuesday this week - after a mere 4 days from the time it shipped out from California! That is actually amazing!

I am very pleased with how he looks and while I haven't had a lot of time to play around with him, my only gripe is that his boots are all kinds of weird. They aren't what I expected. The seam at the back, which gives the appearance of being stitched, is actually just glued on and already it is coming away. It's fixable but it is a disappointment given that they require a lot of shaping to fix the deformity caused by the plastic insert tray.

Otherwise, Han is just an amazing figure to look at and his posability is the best I've experienced for a high end figure.

The bend at the arm/elbow is a single joint, not double jointed like most/many figures that have the articulation hidden behind clothing.

I love that HT did this figure. Right out of the box, it's a great representation of Han for 96% of collectors. However, I have my nick picks like most do, and since I'm a tinkerer, I'm changing a few things to get it suitable for me.

-The hair is too dark and not styled well for ANH, particularly the front wave that sticks out. That being said, it works for the skin tone they've used. I lightened the hair by painting it brown. I think it looks better for the hair, but it's more drastic with the face complexion. Still, it works better for me.

-I actually like the SS pants better. The HT pants are too dark (to me) and the pleat is too obvious. I believe the "real" pants were just plain old jeans.

-I'll be using the SS weapons. The detail is great on the HT one, but it's a real glossy black and looks Hasbro-ish color-wise.

-I'll replace the body. This base body just seems too jacked for my taste. Wide chest, big forearms. Looks great-I'm just not feeling it.

-Oddly enough, I do like the boots. Yes, they need some futzing, but I think they are the most normal looking boots in the foot area out there. They just taper down better than the Dragon ones. The boot tubes on them are nice for sure, but the area at the toes just seems to big and rounded.

I think it's a solid release on it's own, but I do have the means and wherewithal to make some minor tweaks to it to be THAT much better in my eyes. I'm glad we have choices, and for a lot of the SS bashing that goes on, I think a combo of the accessories from both companies would ultimately build the best representation of the characters out there (assuming you owned a previous version). We won't be this lucky for Luke or Leia :lol

Adding some more pics to the mix.

I had a chance to have a futz today and stripped him down and water treated the clothes. Interesting to find that half of the shirt opening seems to be wired. I too don't mind the boots so much, after messing with them for a bit, I have managed to work on the heel kink a little.

Looking forward to seeing your bash with the SS parts Darth_IMPoor.

Won't have the new body for a week or so, but I'll post some pics when I get home with the hair and pants. It won't be for everybody, but everybody didn't buy it for me, so I get to mess him up however I want. Lol.
