I wonder if there's any point in joining the waitlist for Chewie. Well, maybe I'll give it a shot anyway.

Caved and bought this to go with my chewie. Still too expensive and still not sure about the head but had to have

Looks like ford for the side angles. From the front it still looks good but not an exact likeness. Hard to make that though, especially with someone like Harrison Ford.

The new Luke Skywalker ANH looks terrible vs the Prototype.

Now, you can argue that's it's not perfect and I don't think we'll argue... And it's easily a step back from the prototype paint master (like the prod figures always are). You might even find yourself unconsciously humming "Old Time Rock and Roll" to yourself on occasion when posing him. But when folks start throwing around words like terrible, I think we may be losing touch a bit. This is an excellent Luke, and pictures can't quite capture it.

...we now return you to your regularly scheduled Han thread.

I still think the luke sculpt reminds me of tom cruise

Dammit, Greves! You snuck that in while I was typing!

Meh, I'm happy witht the Likeness on Han, doesn't differer too much from the prototype imo. But the Luke prototype just looked so much better and I would have bought it

I'll give you this, the early shots of that prototype were stunning. We discussed this a few pages back. I think the bar was set SO high that the almost inevitable let down front JC Hong to production was that much more impactful. BUT, in hand, it's much better than it comes off in pictures. More than a match for HT Han. I like that figure a lot too, but Luke is easily better. But, then again (as always) it's all subjective. No one can be talked into liking a work or art, which is basically what these are...

I'm just a really picky person. I believe that for the price you pay for these things they should be of the same quality as the prototypes.

Definitely all subjective. I still see more Ford in the Solo sculpt than Hamill in the Luke one. I'm still having trouble really liking the Luke figure.

Really enjoyed the Stormtrooper Luke and then the Farmboy arrived and haven't found it as enjoyable a figure. I think his outfit isn't looking convincing enough to me, maybe just because it doesn't have the weight of the real tunic he wore--I may try the water treatment--so it's more clear that I'm looking at a figure. I may go back to the poncho to hide the outfit again, as since that outfit and accessories aren't seen on-screen as much there's less of a mental image of how they should look.

If they would put out figures that were as detailed as the prototypes, I would pay another $50. They're really good, but I think they could be amazing.

Surely they must be making a pretty nice profit on these figures. I'm sure it wouldnt hurt them to put a little more love into it.

It's going to be awesome watching all these people who think this is off justify to themselves how Jedi Luke (who will be just as off) is the best likeness ever. It'll have an awesome prototype, they'll all say they are glad they waited and the I told you so's will come. Then the production figure will look just like this with a different haircut and a black robe, and HT will have "nailed" it.

Hooded robe, good for hiding the head.

Don't know about anyone else, but I'm easy to please though I wish I could afford HT ANH Luke and the other ANH figures. All I can do is make myself content with Han and Chewie to represent that line.

I already think the ANH Luke, the prototype even more so, resembles ROTJ Luke more than ANH Luke, so that could very well be true (sharper jaw lines, more "heroic" looking). The hair cut might be easier to pull off for ROTJ too.
