If this had been someone's custom Chewie I think we'd all be pretty dang impressed. But for an official, $250 HT Chewie I just don't think it comes nearly close enough unfortunately. And is too much of a downgrade even from the prototype.

This is the only thing that makes sense. There's no way Sideshow would touch a Chewbacca in a short time after HT's. But like with IM, I can see HT themselves doing another version in the near future. Unlike IM, I doubt we'll have multiple of the exact same character (not random armored figures) coming out at the same time. I think the big question is what will change on the base figure in a future version...

That's for sure. Another thing we can count on is later versions will be more expensive. That's OK with me if they can capture a bit more of Chewie's personality.

Sorry to say but all these critiques are funny. I've seen customs not even come close and if sold I'm sure would have been $500+. Again for a mass produced and for $250, this is looking good. Not sure what people expect for the price. Easily one of HT most ambitious figures and while it may not be perfect or look like proto, it came out better to what 90% of the people on here can do.

Make one yourself and come back and see how it turns out and how much you'd sell it for. Some people are accepting of SS scout inaccuracies but go crazy on Han and Chewie...hypocrisy is what I smell. And as the saying goes, don't like it...don't buy it.

I've a gut feeling that Chewbecca will be similar to "Groot" Is definitely the type of figure that you must have in person to appreciate. Also, I'm confidence once a lot of the US collectors have it there will be a lot of tips on how to pose out his hair to get it looking just right.

How is it irrelevant, who else other than Hasbro makes a 1:6 Chewie with fur? What else is there to compare with? Wait for HT to make ESB or TFA then we can compare with similar figures. Hasbro has set the bar for a mass produced Chewie and I think HT killed them. So no need to compare from your standpoint.

I can honestly see Hot Toys just reusing the exact same sculpts on both Han and Chewie. They've been doing that for a bunch of other figures.

Do you guys think TFA Chewbacca will be the next produced? Or will HT explore Tarffull, Yarua or even Wookie Soldiers before they return to the OT ESB and ROTJ
