Some alternate takes on Chewbacca - nice of HT to include the extra parts in the box.

Sorry to say but all these critiques are funny. I've seen customs not even come close and if sold I'm sure would have been $500+. Again for a mass produced and for $250, this is looking good. Not sure what people expect for the price. Easily one of HT most ambitious figures and while it may not be perfect or look like proto, it came out better to what 90% of the people on here can do.

Make one yourself and come back and see how it turns out and how much you'd sell it for. Some people are accepting of SS scout inaccuracies but go crazy on Han and Chewie...hypocrisy is what I smell. And as the saying goes, don't like it...don't buy it.

Yeah it's much better than any of us could do... but that still doesn't make it not look goofy and inaccurate, or like something we'd want to display next to some of the much better 1/6 figures we own.

They still can't get Han right and how many of him do we have?

It's their first Solo. But not their first rodeo. A good example of repeated "meh" would be RDJ - this Solo is however already better than their worst Stark. I doubt they'll re-use the sculpt.

A lot of complaining and moaning will surely get noticed and give them a push to change future versions, for better or worse

Hot Toys - MMS 262 - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Chewbacca Collectible...

This is a great ****. Even looks nice from the dreaded profile angle. Photoshop a good background in there and I'd swear it's a stage shot.

There's just no place for those types of derogatory terms. :)

I PO'ed Han & Chewie from Sideshow when they first went up.
There was a NRD with them.
Any chance I can cancel these two and get my NRD back?
They look nothing like the prototypes.

I PO'ed them when they first went up and there was no NRD. I can cancel anytime without penatly, but I am keeping my PO.

Combed and patted down.

Action pose

That looks mighty impressive. :clap

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

Are you kidding me, right?

Lets laugh at your opinions to, okay?

I feel this is far and away the best futz so far (Peter Paul Pang):

:clap Hopefully we get a Jedi Luke soon.

Do you guys think TFA Chewbacca will be the next produced? Or will HT explore Tarffull, Yarua or even Wookie Soldiers before they return to the OT ESB and ROTJ

Personally, I would love a generic Wookie Soldier or Tarffull for my Clone Wars shelf, I would buy one for sure. Yarua is just some random senator, I think best bet is the Wookie Soldier.

I cant make up my mind about this guy, some pics look really good (like the first ones, I thought it was a guy in a suit pulling our chains) and then there a some really bad looking pics. Could be that it comes down to the luck of the draw on hows yours will come out? I mean they are hand crafted items and there could be variance, and this Fur thing could really be throwing things off as far as consistency.
Or is all just up to how you futz and style his hair?

I think it is this.

Funnily enough I think this is one of the best pic of Chewy. Looks like Peter Mayhew fooling around on the set.

You beat me to it! This is the best pic of the HT Chewie yet.

It's just that there are so many other pics where the sculpt and/or hair is just way off.

If I was guaranteed a Chewie that looked "Just" like this one, I would order immediately. I'll just have to wait for fellow Freaks "in-hand" pics to finally decide.

I dont think he looks too good in those Peter Paul Pang pics, but the ones of him with the avengers and Futbol/basketball teams,, Brilliant!

(Too bad he's naked)

Exactly. It might not be the best figure ever made by Hot Toys or anything but it's pretty damn good and easily better than a good majority of us could do. I'm sure some customizers could do better likely with a larger overall cost than Hot Toys is charging for this figure. I'm happy with this personally.
