1/6 Hot Toys - MMS 262 - Star Wars Episode IV - 1/6th scale Chewbacca Collectible Figure

Thanks for comments guys, it's a great figure with some futzing it's amazing.

Just to clarify what seems like it could become a forest fire. I never said there were two sculpts, I just commented that a second sculpt I picked up was better than the first. That could simply be normal production variance and fur finish, which is pretty understandable on a figure like this or they could have amended a few things as they were produced. I really doubt that it's even a batch thing. The differences? The lips are darker and fitted a little better, the snout not so pronounced, that could be a fur application thing. Who knows at this stage. What it does show though is that there will be a lot of variance in these heads. I started to take one apart and it's extremely complex. Small sections of fabric backed fur attached on a plastic holding structure.

I still have not seen one as bad as the blogger pics showed on release for example.
It's a wait and see situation.

Forgive my ignorance. If you order the 2 pack do you get the exclusive rile AND the strormtrooper belt/blaster? Is is just the rife and the stormtrooper belt can be obtained by purchasing Han seperately?

I'm relatively new to this collecting genre. But I have to believe this is one of the greatest comebacks in the history of 1/6 figures? Am I wrong? A week ago or right before paramore's pics people were thinking this figure would sell wholesale. Now it's approaching figure of the year status, no?

The only thing that irks me is that chewies facial hair except the satchel should be more of that lighter shade!

Nah. Almost every new figure is claimed to be rubbish until in-hand pics roll in.

That may be true (on the boards here especially) but I have to say that I was really abhorred by what I saw at SDCC and it is night and day from the pics of Paramour's and other members' here. Who the hell sets up those figures? Cant they even try?

Yeah even with the variance it appears that they can still all be futzed into a pretty nice looking Chewie if you know what you're doing. And I haven't seen any on here yet with the giant Wilfred Brimley mustache that we saw in all the SDCC and blogger pics, thank god.

Some of the blame can also be put on the lighting, glass and photography, as even though the futzing was poop, we saw some Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde photos of the very same displays within the same day.

All the recent photos from Para, Rory and Stealth look really good.

Well, I'll be damned. If it's simply a matter of futzing and if a "later batch" of new-and-improved Chewie heads comes to fruition, I may just break down and get this.

Rory, would you mind sharing where you picked up your Chewie sculpt? I've looked all over the Bay using as many different keyword combos and can't come up with anything. I just want to have a second head as a backup to switch between ANH/ESB and ROTJ.

So no concern about being able to put it back to the slicked back ANH look after parting it and fulling it forward like that for the ROTJ look?
