Either the officer was played by Kenny Baker or these were the height reference photos for Sideshow and HT. :lol

Nope, must be stood on a box because Kenny Baker was behind the camera...

Considering the drama and fuss that occurs every time a badly futzed/lit picture of a HT figure shows up on the internet, you'd think that they'd take more time with setting up the damn thing... you know, not taking out of the box and throwing it into the cabinet from across the room?

Force ****** Pose.

Sorry but I don't want that pack of batteries hanging out of my 300 buck Vader's a$$. I'll go with artistic license over screen accuracy for that one.

I'm still undecided about this one. Don't love it enough to drop $300 on it.

With the helmet (both facemask sculpt and dome) looking as it does, I don't blame you. The weird gloves too...

It's looked like a weird combination of Vader and an insect from day one. This needs the "V2.0" treatment (not that it totally saved Ben or Han) - make it so, HT.

Anyone thinking HT was going to deliver "one and done" bullseye SW sculpts must be sorely disappointed. While Luke and Leia will hopefully change things, these HT SW figures have been 8/10 at best so far. Harrison Bored, random old guy, duck-bill Chewy and Girl-Vader were certainly not what I was expecting when the HT/SW news was first announced. Quality figures overall - yes. Figures you won't have to re-buy - no.

Spend your grand, put them under high contrast lighting, angle them just-so and marvel at the skin flecks and tiny wrinkles... but this is not the way it should have gone down. Mediocre, mediocre, mediocre... this is VADER. V2.0 - stat! Rant over.:gah:

I'll have to look at Vader again to see if I now get a "girly" vibe from it :lol, but so far of all of HT's inaccurate releases, he bothers me the least. (Obi-Wan the most... the more I've lived w/the sculpt, the less purpose I see in buying it, even if it's the only one available for 20 years. I just see no point to an Obi-Wan that evokes the character without a dead-on Guinness likeness.) The inaccuracies also bother me less than the Scout Trooper by SSC, where several things stand out as glaring, even though I've spent comparatively little time looking at the character or comparing likenesses, etc (having said that, on the bike it's a really nice display).

I still think we might get a good surprise from HT on this one and think way too much has been made of the badly futzed prototype but regardless, going off just what we've seen, I'm more or less happy w/it and for my money, it beats SSC's Deluxe, which I also quite liked (and defended from relentless attacks, haha). Given how iconic the character is, I can understand some nit-picking -- though honestly I don't think HT cares. I remember in the Aliens & Robots section, we all decided to e.mail HT and ask that they not use rubber for ED-209's dome long before release and look how that turned out.

Every crap pic I see of this figure, I raise the price on my SSC ANH Vader by $20.

I've actually been making a killing on my old SSC figs as everybody races to snatch them up, because they're turning out better than the HT versions.
