Has anyone tried to put the Sideshow light-up belt boxes on the HT Vader?

I know they are technically inaccurate because of the missing "red washers" on the six buttons, but can anyone really see those red washers in the movie anyway? I searched the movie yesterday and I'll be damned if they never truly register.

Do you mean from the Deluxe? The chestbox and belt are all combined and come from one power source that is wired together. really easy to turn on and off, and also nice that it's just one battery set (which is also easy to change out) for all three light-up areas. I've been looking for one for cheap to try it out, but haven't come across one yet. I think it would re-introduce the gap between the box and the belt but it may be futzable. Can't remember how much play it has (scratch that, just saw some shots of it where they're pretty close together). One thing that is nice about those is the blinking lights on the chest box.

I feel like the lights on the HT figure are a bit weak (with one light a little more vibrant than the other).

You can easily unplug the Chest Box from the Belt and use the belt on it's own. The Belt boxes are permanently attached to the belt with all of the wires running behind the belt. You can't move the Belt Boxes, unless you where to take apart the whole thing and re-wire.

No, you can unplug the chest box and leave it separate from the belt boxes which have the battery pack. I know, I have it.

That's good to know.

not exactly I have been using the dlx vader belt on my HT vader. and it does work even with out the chest box part plugged into the belt
just say some one also quoted the same thing I was saying

What are you waiting for, then? Try it out. :lol

It's boxed up and buried... and I haven't even finished futzing my Vader yet -- he's disassembled right now. I think someone did this and posted a picture, just can't remember or find it.

Anyway, no matter really. I'll likely put the HT boxes on for final display (which has no lights for life).

I sold the deluxe as the Hot Toys figure became imminent. And then realized I wouldn't have minded keeping that part so I started looking for that or a cheap deluxe. :slap I considered just using the inaccurate chest box as I didn't realize it separated, plus I like the extra lights, but with the HT Vader in hand most of that motivation has waned. Got the boxes closer to the center now too, kind of chews up the belt though.

I have all that yet to do. Ugh....

Honestly, the light-up saber is all I would ever even use on this figure.

I would have used the voice function from time to time if it didn't shut off. Now its worthless.

I would have used the box lights from time to time if I could get at them.

I would use the saber from time to time... but I haven't even tried that one yet. :lol

Anyone notice this detail on the lightsaber hilt? Man that looks breakable.

It says it's over 30cm tall. So I hope it's in scaler or there abouts.

dirty, looks like you have some nice large display shelves big enough for the tauntaun in the background. Do you have any more shots of those?

Thanks, TonTon

They're the Ikea "Besta" units.

Here's some more pics...
