It's odd they'd make it necessary to strip the figure in order to get to the sound feature, yet make the belt so delicate it breaks when you undo/redo it. I seem to recall I had to redo HT Luke Bespin's shirt and after one undo/redo, a few of the plastic fasteners ceased to work.

Come to think of it, SSC's ANH Vader dome isn't ANH either. So nevermind. :lol

:lol I wasn't sure if you were responding to my post since it didn't make 100% sense, so I just stayed quiet...

oh ok..Ive seen a few on ebay. However, TA or not, thats a pretty pricey head.

Ebay prices are ludicrous. $240?!? :cuckoo: TA had them for $70, I think. Still not exactly cheap, but I think worth it for a quick upgrade to the Sideshow ANH Vader.

Deciding between the FO Snowtrooper Officer, or cancelling my pre-order of the latter and ordering a Hot Toys Vader with flex pay. The issue is, I already spent $13 in rewards points on the Snowtrooper, in addition to the $22 non-refundable deposit.

I already have a Vader; I purchased the SS Deluxe 1/6 scale Vader back in June. However, due to an unfortunate incident he now has a scratch on the "forehead" of his helmet. It's not particularly noticeable but it's there nonetheless, and thus is a considerable annoyance to me. That scratch, along with the poor bodysuit, had caused me to consider replacing him with the HT Vader. I suppose the HT Vader's light up saber is what makes it particualry alluring to me, along with the incredible detail. On the other hand, I've heard that this figure's electronics (the belt boxes) are a hassle, and then there's the issue of the easily broken belt.

What do you guys recommend? Should I just wait for Hot Toys to release a 1/6 scale TESB Vader? Is such a release likely?

Since you have both points and rewards invested in your pre-order, I'd stick with (assuming you still like the design). As for Vader, unless you can see yourself wanting two on display, I'd pass and wait for the inevitable ESB version (would guess we would see a pre-order in next 18 months).

Killer picture dboz!! :clap

Looks like a movie still

Got this guy today, no QC issues :yess:

He's fricking amazing. The detail on the helmet is staggering, especially love the grill behind the breath mask. I'm not going to bother with any of the electronics though, well maybe the lightsabre. The rest of it just fills me with dread!

Just don't touch the belt, lol.

I still have NO idea why Hot Toys' felt they needed to put the sound gimmick inside the figure. Vader could have simply come with a special base that housed the entire feature, activator switch and all.

It wouldn't have solved the belt problem though. They need a far better belt all around, for future Vader's.

Man, seeing these pics makes me wish Sideshow would get to shipping my Vader soon!

Mine still shows processing. Hopefully next batch arrives soon and they can ship him to me.
