Has anyone thought about painting the hands to get rid of that ridiculous shine and make them look more like leather? I think that would greatly enhance the look and make it blend more with the rest of the leather glove pieces.

That is exactly what I will be doing to mine when I get them tomorrow. It was the first thing I saw when I saw all the review videos.

So, does anyone know the proper voltage for a DC power replacement on Darth Vader?

Thanks WG :hi5:

It was pretty fun setting him up over the weekend. Only mod I think I'll do is make the belt boxes closer.

let`s see the color would be like a flat black paint or something

I'm pretty sure a light spray of dulcoat would do the trick. It should knock back the shine, but not be completely flat so as to better match the slight shine of the leater.

I'd planned on doing that to mine, but had to send it back to Sideshow for a replacement.

wow the whole figure what was wrong with it

It was the voice function... I did the whole undress, insert batteries and tested it. Worked the first time then never worked again. Swapped batteries, etc. etc. So I returned it.

Funny thing is after hearing what a pain the voice function is I probably won't even bother testing it on the new figure; but I figure if I paid $300 I should at least have one that works :lol Mine also had a slight paint ding on the helmet, nothing terrible but I figured I might as well try again.

Actually, the best option would be a somewhat semi-gloss leather color darkened with black. However, Testors Black Chrome Trim produced a very good leather look when I painted my old Kaiyodo kit back in the day. Though, I can't say whether it will be a match to the leather on the rest of the HT gloves, so the dull-coat mentioned by galactiboy is probably the best option.

Missed UPS again! Received final notice from them saying they will return to Sideshow :gah:
Seriously, their customer service is dire. Re arranged delivery to an alternative address & they still insist on trying the default address.
:monkey2 I want moi Vader :monkey2
