Ok, so after having numerous issues with FedEx, Sideshow kindly offered to switch my deliveries over to UPS, the first of which being Darth Vader.
But they're now telling me that UPS cost is $62.28 as opposed to $30 FedEx and that I must now pay the additional cost.

My question is does anyone here have their orders shipped to the UK via UPS and can you confirm what the VAT and Duty costs amount to?
If it's going to be £50+ like FedEx usually is then I will end up being even worse off!

I think there's a thread on this subject. UPS fees were far cheaper than fedex, but it turns out the charges were calculated in HK dollars instead os US dollars.
All future orders will have the correct import charges in US dollars, an expensive time for international collectors.

So there would be absolutely no benefit to me using UPS as the upfront postage cost is double that of FedEx and then the charges will work out the same as well?

Probably best avoiding orders direct from Sideshow unless money is no issue. A more cost effective way to get our figures is to purchase from HK sellers usually found on eBay, of all places.
I've personally bought most of my Hot Toys from Hong Kong sellers on eBay, and the savings have been great!:)

Can you recommend any particular? I wouldn't know who's trustworthy lol.

Ive seen a few great prices on ebay from HK. Think it was from a seller called loontentoys or something. What kind of fees do you have to pay on import for these?

I just got my shipment notice today from Sideshow. I should have him in hand tomorrow.

I should be getting Lord Vader early next week! Finally! :yess:

I hope this second run comes with improved gloves and a less ponderous sound feature.* :lol

* Just kidding. I know he won't. :cuss

Definitely going to buy this now after reading your post, you are totally right about him going for crazy prices on eBay after Rogue One.

If ESB is your favorite look -- wait. HT will do one.

If ANH is your favorite look -- get this now. Or feel the pain after Rogue One when this figure is getting Loki/Mark I 2.0 prices on ebay.

If you don't like the ANH look for Vader, you will after Rogue One.

Using advanced mathematical science... I'd say buy this Vader now. NOW! Damn you, NOW!

Hell, it's just a bit more than SS Luke Snowspeeder.

Five pages with no picture! So...a little incitement...

My Vader just arrived from Sideshow! Unfortunately, I don't have room in my display case for him. So he's staying in the box for now. I'll have to go to Ikea this weekend to get something.

Yeah, I can relate. I need to do something here quick regarding more shelf space. I have a few more SW figures coming in (Leia, Han, Chewie, two Reys and BB-8) and some BvS and Civil War figures, and I only have a couple of spaces left in a display case that I already have crammed. :lol
