For those that have both V1 and V2 Vaders - are there any differences in either the chest armor or the leg guards that are attached to the front of the boots?

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but he V1 armor has silver shoulders and the V2 has black shoulders. The leg guards are the same, but the V2 boots have straps, the V1 doesn't. They are non functioning.

To raise/adjust the codpiece on this, do you have to unstrap it in the back, or can you just simply un-Velcro the front piece and raise it up a bit? I never raised mine because I always thought it was already positioned pretty well, but I’m thinking I’m going to raise it a smidge.

You are correct. The only other things really different I can find are that the arms have slightly more bend range at the elbows. Also the lining on the inside edges of the cape is a little different as well. The material there is smoother and doesn’t pucker like the original so it helps it have a nicer drape over all. I’m not gonna mention the obvious silver dots or belt box. Just the hidden differences I thought stood out when in hand.

Any tips for putting the new gloves on the V1 figure? I put two of them on fairly successfully but it was a real *****. I had to get the peg into the glove first and then put it on the figure trying not to bunch up the suit material.

Ah-ha! Not easy, is it?

Someone here said it was very easy, perhaps they can explain.

Getting the pegs into the gloved hands was a pain in the ass! I followed advice given on here. I used needle nosed pliers with the tips wrapped up and cursed for 15 minutes. I bought 9 wrist pegs for all 9 hands, so I don't have to go through that again since what everyone said was the pegs stay in the gloves, not in the wrist joint when you remove them..

Actually inserting the glove into the arm wasn't much trouble. Yes, the sleeves bunch up a bit since they wont fit inside the glove, but I have the arms bent now so they would've bunched up any way. Looks fine to me. Much less distracting than the original hands and separate glove piece design.

A friend used electrical tape to hold the sleeve in place.

I think 'Oh Hell NO' said he sanded the forearm down a little bit.

:slap .... I'd rather keep the original seperate glove/hands than to go through all that. I'd be more afraid the electrical tape would ruin the sleeves by never being able to get it off, or the sticky residue left behind.

Yeah, it's a ***** I was annoyed enough with the gloves versus base body that I used a dremmel tool and sanded down the forearms on the actual base body. Sounds drastic, but in actuality, I went pretty modest on the actual sanding-down part.

I do like the newer boots that has the strap. I 'assume' that the Tarkin Vader has the same ones used in the Rogue one version?

Well, I managed to total screw the pooch on the nose job I gave Vader helmet from the tarkin set enough I had get out some plastic putty to save it. LOL. Man, I am cursed with the nose mod.

Yeah, that works. On the cod piece: on the original v1, which I've been told is the same as the new: I just tucked in the strap that goes between the legs....easier to pull it up/down or however. On the actual costume, seemed to be the chest armor/chest box, then belt are all pretty close to each other. Most pull the cod piece up to match.

White plumbers Teflon tape( not electrical)wrapped tightly around the suit at the wrist. Put the hand on slowly while partially rotating it and pushing on the suit at the arm against the glove at the same time. Sounds tough but super easy...

I still think V1 is pretty good

You can't really go wrong with either, but in the pictures I've seen with the stock v1 and v2 side by side, my eye tends to go to v1.

I do have the V1 Vader. I have upgraded some of the parts of V1. I did manage to pick up a set of gloves and belt from RO Vader last year . I did pick up the V2 Darth vader boots as I liked the look they gave for him on there RO Vader.

Matrix -- do you have the v2 suit on your Vader or is that the v1 suit? Sure looks a lot more tailored than my v1 suit when the arms are bent.

I see you added the studs to the chest box straps too.
