I posted a number of ANH movie stills showing the studs over the chest box several pages back. They are there in the film, though often just peaking out from under the chest box. Watch when Vader confronts Leia in the beginning and then Vader walking down the hall after, can't miss them. Or the scene where Vader says: "We have to destroy them ship to ship." Or Leia's torture scene.

thks much!

love my RO but always intended to get a ANH ver so im comparing the v1 to v2 now, plottin.....

i re-tailored to fit better

I thought so. Good job. Looks natural.

I was planning to do the same to mine to slim the arms, but then I saw the v2 bodysuit at Toys Anx and just grabbed it. Hopefully the v2 suit works, though I've since heard you can't swap out the light-up arm without undressing Vader fully.

i bow to all your vader knowledge and humbly submit new questions- are the lenses not as red on the v2? dont seem as red as on v1 but could just be pics, any shots showin the red in lenses on v2 more clearly? v2 has the correct colored shoulder bells?

You can just about see half the studs showing above the chest box...

thks! see them now in scenes, is like they slip behind chest box or box rises up and are easily missed.

The eye lens aren't red but amber brown which is movie accurate...i don't have the V2 vader but going from pics all three vader versions look to have the same amber brown color...subtle as it is..
V2 vader has black shoulder bells...which are accurate to TESB but not ANH..they should be gunmetal grey with black piping...V1 has the correct color but the sculpt is all wrong

I'd like to add to the Vader eyes point this pic from Oh Hell NO:

Matt S RO vs ANH 1-27-17.jpg

As shown above, I was under the impression that the RO head had more deep red lenses (on left) as opposed to the amber lenses on the v1 (on right).

I'm guessing that's a red coloured foil he has behind the lens..rather than the actual lens being red...but you may be right

I actually think HT made the lenses redder based on the overly red reflections used in RO to make Vader's eyes appear red for fanboys.

Anyway, that's what I remember from the RO HT Vader period. I never owned one myself so I have no idea.

BTW, matrix, did you ever try ironing the RO cape and/or tunic? I have both, plan on using them on my final ANH bash (assuming I can correct them)... but I'm curious if the material will take to ironing.

No i never ironed them..but i did steam them..which works pretty good. If you plan on using the R1 tunic then an iron on low level would probably work better for getting out those creases

Thanks. Been ironing (and steaming) as you typed. It is possible to get rid of the perfectly pressed pleats in the RO tunic by ironing and press-steaming. There's a lot of material there to play with once you free it up. Perhaps too much. But you definitely can get a more uneven bunching look for Vader.

I'm going with the RO tunic only because I want to use the RO cape and keep the consistency of material colors. But if I don't ultimately like the look of either, I will revert back to the v1 cape/tunic (or v2 of both since I understand they are the same).

Next trick is trying to get rid of that extra inch of material in the front of the RO cape. Going to see if I can fold the cape in on itself and then iron/steam to create a new clean line at the bottom (likely will require a stitch or two to hold in place). It will be like folding pants inside themselves to shorten the length.
