There seems to be some sort of mathematical relationship between paramoremcr88 and the haters. As the number of photos posted by paramoremcr88 in a Hot Toys thread increases, the number of negatrons who post in the thread decreases. Negativity seems to reach a fever pitch just before the first paramoremcr88 photo.

So far, I have only observed this in the Chewbacca thread and now this one. This will definitely require further study and perhaps a doctoral dissertation... Will wait for the HT Vader thread to confirm my theory. :wink1:

Hey where did all the haters go? LOL typical. Fantastic pics para!!

the only issue i see personally is the mustache , should be light brown , as well as down the middle of the beard , other then that its an amazing figure

THiS^

Sculpt looks great. Outfit looks great. Light up Saber looks awesome. This is yet another solid addition to the Star Wars line.

I really want Hot Toys to take a crack at Darth Maul.

Let's shoot down your doctorial dissertation with a simple reason. Members here respect and like him and the quality of his photos. It would be really crappy of people to blast the figure when community contributors like him produce these photos for our viewing benefit. Give it a couple of courtesy days after these have been posted and you will see opinions not fawning all over the sculpt. I'll give you an I for incomplete. Class dismissed. :lol

The bottom line is, bad sculpt, good sculpt or great sculpt it is not going to matter for most collectors that want to have a OT collection with Ben in it. Another OT Ben is not coming out of a Hot Toys plant for a long while if ever again. So sometimes you just have to bite the bullet if you wish to have a character in the lineup.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to hokietwo again.

Couldn't have said it better myself. :duff

I don't like the hood on any of para shots. It does not capture the essence of Obi's hood. Not sure if it's the shots or the actual fabric size from Hot Toys.

We all remember the DX Luke nightmare. The first pica made him look so bad. Then, the "professional" images showed up, and shut everyone up.

Hot Toys has made many hits and misses over the years. But I have full faith that this line will be fully operational. Sideshow did a good job. They still do with secondary characters. But Hot Toys will get my money from each release here on out.

No hater here! Keep the pics coming.

I'd love to see him set up next to R2 projecting Leia on the table.

I had a post written up but hokietwo touched on all my main points. Well said. :duff

I'm in the bullet biting camp. Here's hoping this figure hits a bit of a discount to make the purchase more palatable.

It wasn't ripped to pieces like the HT effort.

Why do people say that SS version is cartoonish? Looks really good in that pic to me(if that's indeed the same sculpt)

SS sculpt painted by Skiman. But the body is HT and the hands are from the HT TDKR Bane figure.

:lol Tonton.

Because people can't admit to themselves, that in this case, the Sideshow sculpt is a lot better than Hot Toys offering.

:goodpost::exactly: I don't care how awesome the paint work is or how awesome the detailing is in the sculpture. if the sculpt does not look like the actor then it`s some random looking old guy in a jedi robe. for 200+ it should be dead on but I guess to each there own.

Great pics does not change the fact that this is just a decent figure.

I go back and forth on this guy, but these are (I think) my final thoughts on this figure.

It is a decent figure that could have been a whole lot better.

Starting with the hair.... it looks like grey cool whip spread on top. Does not look good to me at all or really representative of Alec hair. The hood needs to be up on this figure for that reason alone.

The beard is inaccurate, no pics can change that.

The eyes are the biggest issues. They really throw the figure off. Sure, hood up and a shadow effect to the point the eyes are blacked out, it makes the figure look pretty decent to good, but sitting on my shelf.... how will it look? Is there one single picture of just a normal shot, no fancy photography that clouds judgement.... The ones that I did find made Ben look very pale and somewhat Asian looking.

The inner robes.... material used I do not like. It is not thick enough and the brown undershirt is easily visible through it. Even that brown undershirt... looks cheap. I much prefer the SSC inner robes and undershirt. As far as the brown Jedi robe goes.... that looks pretty good. I like that.

LED lightsaber looks like a shrunken down 1/6th Hasbro toy lightsaber.

I think Ben is by far the weakest Star Wars offering Hot Toys has put out.... and maybe will ever put out.

Shame that I will have to spend $220 plus on most likely the only Hot Toys Ben we will ever get, sadly it does not do Alec Guinness justice.

I view this figure now as a representation of a Old Ben take from Hot Toys, not Alec Guinness as Ben.
