Fantastic shots. I just love this figure! I do agree he looks more like the actor in some lighting versus others but overall I'm very pleased.

the in hand pictures, greatly surpass the quality of the promotion pictures Hot Toys used.

Para, impressive work!!

Internet connection finally working!

Paramore to the rescue!:rock

That looks pretty amazing.

That is why each area has mods to keep topics on track and each thread has a specific topic. Makes it easy to find topics of interest and have conversations regarding the item in this case HT Kenobi. If folks have that much interest in SS Kenobi, he has his own thread. Kinda how this forum works.

Unclear the benefit of cluttering this thread with repaint pics of a figure which oddly enough has its own thread? If folks have that big of an interest in viewing SS repaints it is pretty simple to find the thread in search. Again unclear the gushing comment because I disagree with posting pics, I havent mentioned anything about the ongoing discussions or debates about which is better or the this looks like xxx person gags. Debates and opinions what makes the thread interesting :dunno

A few "alternatives" pics as reference I don't have a problem with, but I do sort of agree. The SSC DX Vader thread got totally hijacked by Kaiyodo Vader customs. That's an older fading thread, so I guess it's kind of okay (except for those who just bought the fig,) but for newer stuff like HT Ben, people should resurrect the SSC Kenobi thread and post pics there - it's way too early for a SSC Ben repaint deluge. People are interested in that fig again, so having the two threads side-by-side would be great.

I can see why people are complaining about the likeness of this, but to me personally the realism of the repainted sideshows is just not there. I mean no offense to the people who own/prefer them. But among the other hot toys figures I think that they would look out of place.

Yeah, some of these repaint pics are what convinced me the HT Ben is the best option. These repaints - even pretty great ones - don't come close to HT's ultra-realistic sculpt detailing and apps. Just don't know how it would hold up right next to the new HT Luke. It's the difference between a living human and an oil painting of a human. And the SSC certainly has a better likeness, but it is slightly cartoony and lacking in sculpt detail.

Yeah to me the Sideshow sculpt even repainted looks more like a caricature of Guinness than a real representation of him. I'm happy with how the Hot Toys one looks but I never had a big problem with it to begin with.

Amazing pics Paramore! Amazing.
Im in for all the HT star wars, so even jedi mind tricks won't work on me.lol
Are you getting any of the TFA figures? Would love to see what they look like in your pics.

:goodpost:

It's definitely the HT sculpt for me as well. I get what people are seeing in the SS version, but it really does look like a caricature. Sure, the expression on this figure may be a bit too grim, but it still looks great.

Thanks for the excellent pics! More excited for this figure by far than I was even a few days ago.
