I really like this figure, but I'm still debating on whether to get it (I have the Episode 7 version).

I was struggling as well, but I ended up ordering this one. This look is just so powerful to me, and she'll look great with Kylo Ren. And, I know some people have a problem with it, but I prefer this portrait. Fierce.

Lens distortion is a thing.

But anyway, the sculpt isn't 100% at all but I wouldn't say it's terrible. It definitely looks better under certain lighting and angles.
It's about as close as the Ep IV HT Luke sculpt IMO. Not on the money, but not too bad.

I personally prefer the TFA sculpt, but this one is by no means a horrible sculpt.

If Rey was a PT character then the pic on the left would be the final in-hand product.

OT/ST/Stand-alones get the B-Team sculptors.

I have to agree with you. I don't see "Rey" at all, just generic Jedi with some damn nice boots!!!

Anybody get both this and ROTJ Luke? I'd be curious to see those two together, since it seems like they'd make a cool pair.

And I assume this is still as short and underscaled as the previous Reys? Don't think I've seen a comparison yet.

Do you need glasses? Yes it's a terrible photo but it's not difficult to see how bad the sculpt is.

I concur. That is a terrible photo.

I personally think the likeness on TFA sculpt is better, but that is one unflattering photo and this thread is laden with much better photos of the figure that showcase it and the sculpt a lot better.

It's all personal opinion but i think this sculpt is much better than the 1st (not including that above picture that is probably the worst i've seen so far). I sold my TFA set just because the scuplt really did not do anything for me. But that is just me if others hate this one that's fine.

I wish we didn't focus so much on what isn't perfect, and more on the awesomeness of it as a whole. The community is so negative nowadays.

I just watched The Last Jedi again, and liked it even more. Attitude has a lot to do with it.

I’ve got both on preorder. Luke gets here Friday, and not sure about Rey yet. Still waiting for that two week notice email from Sideshow...

I just got Luke also but not sure when SS is getting Rey. Hopefully soon. I'm not 100% on the sculpt but honestly to me it's close enough. Could be better, could be a whole lot worse. Still excited to get her (and the Porgs!)

I have to admit, I find the eyes to be very off on this figure, and it takes away from the whole likeness. I prefer this outfit/look for Rey, and the hairstyle, and expression, but the TFA/Resistance sculpt is more accurate to Daisy Ridley.

Still, they capture some of the essence of the character. The new one moreso than the older one, IMHO.

Overall, they are both GREAT renditions of Rey the character, not as much of the actress playing her.

No, I had it right. My sentiment has never deviated. Neither are a great likeness, I concur. That’s something I’ve always stated. TFA sculpt bears a better likeness though.
