I have a question? In hot toys website,it said john connor is a limited edition, so how many johns are out there?

They basically say that about every figure they do. 'Limited collectible' I'd like to know just how limited too, they seem to just, never sell out, and have plenty in reserve, can't be too limited. Not that i wouldn't buy them, or anything like that, just purely for curiosity sake. I think it's easier to sell to people also. ''This is probably worth about 200 US this figure'' ''Really, how many are there?'' ''Only 2000 in the world!'' ''Oh nice''.
Whereas if you said ''Well, it's one of about 90 000'' ...... '' Man, you are totally on crack '' :p

Not even close.]

Yeah 'not even' close, but 'incredibly' close lol. Much closer than i remembered anyway, havn't seen Ethan for a while and the picture in my head was alot more off than that :whip

Well, I didn't mean to turn this into a whose head's better match, was really just trying to briefly point out a couple fundamental off areas that make the HT head a bit unBale.

Between customs and production heads, there's bound to be one that everyone's happy with for their figure and that's what counts, that the head on your figure works for you.

This one has my vote for best 1/6th figure of the year..though DX Joker might beat it, Joker appeal is wearing thin for me though. The details in this Connor sculpt/paint is one of Hot Toys best ever.

A little disappointed with the figure. It looks great, no doubt about it. But the accessories and everything you put on is just so prone and fragile to falling off or falling apart. The Velcro barely sticks, the straps don't hold, some straps are peeling off, etc. I have always seen this issue with the HT military type figures, but I would have hoped they advanced in this area more. But apparently not. You can't pose the figure with the risk of something coming apart.....

Other than that the figure is one of the best looking of the year, very realistic.

HT need to sort out their quality control out on this figure no question about that but one of the best all round looking figures.

The main issues I see with this figure have nothing to do with QC, but simply choices of production materials, and that needs to change.

Yeah I was also talking about so many people having chipped heads but I also meant the overall quality of the straps and velcro is quite poor.

Well, other than the 2 or 3 of you that posted, I haven't seen the flaking be an issue really so that's why I wasn't thinking much of QC issues, with any production run there's bound to be a few slips but it seems like most folks are getting their figures intact.

Mine came fully intact nothing missing, nose is fine and the Fig is awesome....but.....i do agree with everyone, the pouch straps are pretty ^^^^ty, and will come loose depending on how you handle the figure, no amount of pulling on the strap tightens it anymore so your pretty much left with a pouch that is never really secure.

Everything else though Kicks ASS on this guy!!!

i am surprised though that with all the major details they didn't give him real laced boots.

Doesn't feel that way when you have a defect though. :sick

Does anyone know how to get the pistol holster onto his side? The green thing I'm supposed to put it on looks like it isn't even made to work.

I'm not really sure hot to describe it well.

On the holster, there's a clip piece hinged to the holster that has 3 prongs, 2 small ones on the side of a big one. The knife actually has the same setup only they put the knife into the arm holster for you already. I noticed on the knife, they put the big part of teh clip into a slit of cloth with the two small ones on the outside, I got all 3 parts of the clip to tuck on the gun holster though.

Basically, you need to get the tabs on the clips of the gun holster into any of the little gaps of cloth on the leg attachment, I suggest using tweezers to help widen the opening of whichever slit you try to slide the clip into. It's a pain, took me like 15 minutes to finally get it on there.

Go to page 242 in this thread. You should see a link to a youtube video that shows you exactly how to assemble the figure.

Well...had another Monday from hell going today at work until this guy showed up...and man, was I sent over the moon opening this up and giving it a look...

Just did a quick shot right out of the box, no futzing or attempts to gear him up yet, but....

WOW!

Just some random first impressions here...

This is my first Hot Toys figure and man, I can see what all of the fuss is about.
Yeah, he's gonna need some care and patience getting it all together but I can already tell, the end result is gonna be fantastic.

For those of you still waitng for yours to arrive or those still on the fence....all the fine photos being posted in here (and there have been some great ones) do not do this figure complete justice. All of the superlatives being hurled at this one are right on the mark. The sculpt, the paint, the detailing....all just amazing. The outfit and all of it's accouterments are scaled perfectly and distressed well too, right down to the soles of the boots.

The packaging is fun and distinctive too and as MC pointed out in his review, very collector friendly, yet good and sturdy.

I'm looking forward to getting this guy futzed and geared up...I think this one's gonna be one of my favorites for the year. I know folks are still knocking the movie while digging the figure, but for me staring at this one makes me want to see the movie again and get inspired to snap some fun shots!

Thanks Hot Toys for doing this character so well...and to paraphrase a certain Austrian Oak, "I'll be back"...with some more shots later.... :)

Looking forward to the outdoor stuff JB, hopefully you can get him out there.

While the box is collector friendly as far as getting into it, I did find, and this comment is more geared towards frequent HT purchasers, that it seemed like the protection for the figure itself wasn't as good in these Terminator boxes as their standard plastic trays for other lines, and thus how some figures had the nose flaking issue. My first impression opening the box was fear of how the nose would be on mine seeing how less protective it looked for the portrait than their other packaging.

Guess I got lucky with mine in regards to the "nose" issue. I did note the figure seemed pretty firm in the tray and there was a folded-up bit of clear plastic sheet around the head-hair holding the head in the tray. Wa in there pretty good...

That's been a new thing with HT for about a year now, I'm glad they took that lesson from Sideshow, the neck brace piece of plastic in the trays on these figures to keep the heads from sliding forward and rubbing on whatever they might hit during ship is a great feature. I've never really had any figures suffer except my Legolas from Sideshow, but now with that brace, it's nice knowing it's there and the faces should all arive in mint condition because of it.

Very glad these companies invest as much into the means of packaging these figures to ensure protection as they do the items themselves.
