I'm trying to recreate John Connor's HK416 from the first scenes.

I have to replace the stock and weather it a bit.

To Magnuz (and any others who have restrapped the rifle's sling),

How much of a pain is it to do it? The fact that it is not strapped correctly near the front barrel really irks me, but it seems like it would be a pain to re-strap it. Any tips?

I followed this and it was easy. No prob! I used a small screwdriver or a paperclip to help unbuckle the sling, that's the hard part and putting it back by pushing it back though with the help of said tools or a pair of tweezers.

Ok i took some quick flash pics to try and show how i setup my johns rifle strap, i went with what i believe was how they intended it to be, which is modern military style sling.

For reference, this is the rifle strap as it came out of the box roughly, like a normal single strap you'd sling on your shoulder:

If you adjust the strap with the plastic adjusters, you can get the style i believe is correct, since it was clearly designed to do this:

It should be noted, mine at least came with the front of the strap hooked onto the rifle's front sight, NOT the metal clip on the side of the sight, where it was supposed to be, so i unstrapped it and restrapped it in the proper place, but closeups of the positions of the straps spots:

Once the strap is setup like that, its slung over his left arm and then his head, this allows the rifle to hang naturally in a downward angle on the front of his torso, for easy access, and to be brought up in proper firing position and the strap doesn't interfere with his movements, this is the style i see in all the modern military type stuff i looked at for reference, and how i'm fairly sure it was hung in the movie itself, various views:

Hope that helps.

Yeah, i saw Magnuz's post a while back, but I still didn't know how much of a pain it would be to re-strap the thing. BUt with tweezers and a small screwdriver, it's not a problem. Just take you're time.

This is sort of a newb question, but I only hve three Hot Toys figures, and I've been wondering about this. On the stand for John Connor (and Iron man) are the prongs suppose to go all the way up to the figure's crotch, or are they suppose to be lower to push against the figure's thighs?

Depends on your tastes, and the figure really. I find that the prongs are a bit too strong to go all the way into john's crotch and it tends to spread his legs out. So i just push it up till its pressing against his thighs when he's in the stance i want, and he's steadied.

Iron man, i actually get his all the way up into his crotch, rested in the areas between his thighs and pelvis, so that the prongs are set firmly and aren't going to wiggle with the figure if theres any vibrations, so they don't possibly scuff his paintjob.

On the other end of the spectrum of avoiding damage with them, theres the batman figures, which i do like john, just high enough that they are against the thigh enough to keep the figure steady, but aren't pressing or pushing on it, so they don't damage the rubber suits of the batman figures.

Hell yes!, is it new or opened?..endo or the one with flesh and damage?..if its any one of the two, its a good deal.

Considering how fragile the hands are on this figure, and the figure is complete then i say its still a good deal, just make sure the seller packs it extremely well if you are having it shipped to you.
