Still pretty massive. And I meant for people who are going to be buying this either way, only $20 more is not bad. Or maybe it’s way smaller than I think.

I guess I’ve never paid attention to the Mark 1 figs, so I didn’t notice the lost potential of this one.

I have the 2.0 and i was really looking forward to this one. It was small compared to other figures years ago. It's going to look ridiculous now, it's slightly taller than the undersize Black Widow figure.

Does anyone know what the MSRP was on the Mark I 2.0 release?

$200. V1 was like $150 or something but could be had for $100 -$130 on clearance for a short time.

Everything HT presented today is garbage.

This Mark 1 is almost an inch shorter than the new rescue suit and the MK5/racing suit up figure. So if the stark racing suit figure is taller than this then there no excuse because it shows they had a the correct size tony figure to put underneath the armor. There is absolutely no reason Pepper should tower over this.

Bingo.

I'm going to buy it and I'm excited by it as I love the Mk 1. Technically this is to scale as RDJ is 5'9" and this scales to a little under 6". That said, the Mk 50 and 85 are meant to be around the height of the wearer so those figures are technically too large, so they really should scale the Mk 1 in-line with them, so I get why people are annoyed. I have always planned to pair him with my undersized First Avenger Cap so its okay for me, but I won't be putting it next to my Mk 85 if be is indeed out of scale.

i have all diecast and mark 1 2.0 , nobody ever comes to see my collection and picks them up, they do not know which one are diecast or plastic having them all in the hall of armor i can not tell if mark 1 is pastic or diecast compared to the rest

I want a Mark I Iron Man.

It sounds like you want a new Mark I Iron Man release no matter what, and you’re justifying its cost based on an old figure that demands a premium based on its scarcity rather than its quality.

You do you.

But if too many people subscribe to this way of thinking, it enables Hot Toys to pretty much re-release a decade old figure, with extremely minimal upgrades in quality at a price that suggests it includes a whole bunch of new R&D, tooling, and innovation. Which it does not.

Agree with some here that just cause you own one doesn't mean that there is a marketing out there again for a new one. I certainly don't understand half the wants of figures, but people will buy them. I guess some forget the reissues of Knightmare Batman, new colored Superman, TDKR Batman with some interchangeable sculpts. Reissues are happening to popular characters and the secondary market is telling.

I’m happy with this re-release. I don’t see a problem with it. Sculpt looks good to me. Height isn’t a big deal to me. I wouldn’t buy if it was $800. But considering all new IM are $400, the price is fine to me. Obviously all the figures are overpriced so why don’t you give **** to every single person who buys a single Hot Toy? It enables Hot Toys to pretty much keep over charging with minimal upgrades in quality.

Lets take a look at the Tony Stark (Mark V Suit up Version), priced at $350 . It has a far superior sculpt to what was offered a decade ago. It has been given height appropriate to the new scale of figures which defeats the notion that because the Mark I is built on True Type it couldn’t be brought up to scale. It has a ton of new tooling and R&D, and costs $105 less than this new Mark I release.

I never said all figures are overpriced. I’m certainly willing to pay when I see value. Had they put similar effort into this Mark I release as they had that release, I would have put in a pre-order.

Like I said, you do you, I won’t judge. I’m not as willing to part with money when I don’t see value. If that offends you, grow a little thicker skin instead of resorting to name calling.

What a lazy *** figure. So, this is the exact same height as the original re-lease? WTF.

I need it because I have the Hall of Armor and I'm missing this and a couple others but *******.

:lol

You already judged with your condescending reply. I’m not the one upset over another man buying a dollie.

I don't think anyone cares that you are buying this. I don't blame you for doing so, but it should not be available period. Hot Toys should not be doing reissues of a ten year old iconic figure that could greatly benefit from an actual upgrade. Instead of putting in the work, they took the laziest road possible.

Overpriced new designs are bad enough, but overpriced 10 year old rereleased are just a big f u to their long time customers. At this stage, they’re mainstream enough where they don’t need to care.

PASS

EMBARRASSING FOR HT

$450 for a 9 year old figure reissued but with some metal. :lol Hot Toys is the only company that gets away with this ******** on stuff that cost so much.

God forbid they actually take the time to make a new sculpt or improve the figure after almost a decade.

Oh but YAY I get to see this little motor fan on the back of the figure spin. F out of here Hot Toys. :rotfl

And they've convinced people that metal is somehow worth the extra cost, despite the fact that knockoff companies throw in diecast pieces for figures where Hot Toys even doesn't on sub $100 figures/statues.

That's the level of disappointment we're at here.

I hope people are complaining on FB and IG. I hope this fails miserably for HT.

They won’t do anything about this figure but maybe if they get enough blow back and see a pissed customer base yet again they’ll think twice before squatting out another Tiny Stark mistake.

But the reason they didn’t improve this is they decided they can sell it on “die cast” alone without making new expensive molds. So if they now have enough customers that will buy outdated, undersized product at an inflated price, some grumpy legacy customers won’t hurt profits.

Hot Toys charges $400+ because they've been increasing the price over the years and we just have to kiss their *** and take it.

Either that or just don't buy their stuff is really the only options. It's not like they listen or communicate with their fanbase in any shape or form.

What makes the price even funnier is that they did the BARE MINIMUM with this figure. They didn't even have to resculpt a new Tony Stark face. They legit just took out an almost 10 year old sculpt from the trash bin and "repainted" it.

All of this. After ten years HT return to the MK1 should have been an extravagant upgrade to the original suit that started the Marvel craze. Instead we got a lazy 95% reused figure made specifically to rake in easy money from newer collectors. I can't believe this is how they handled this particular figure :slap :slap :slap

It is amazing I haven't heard one person who is excited by this. There is always at least one of those people. Where is s/he hiding?

Have fun. :rotflNothing like people blindlessly buying Hot Toys crap off of the ground. No wonder they continue to do stupid **** like this.

See the quotes. Lots and lots of people here care a lot. You do too, otherwise you wouldn’t have liked some of the quotes above. I buy this, I support the re-issues that you all oh so desperately hate, I support HT current agenda, which you all hate and thus all hate those who buy it. Pretty clear none of you want anyone to buy this. Y’all are hoping this fails.
Smooth as ever.
Let me tell you what to buy and why and how to spend your money. All while insinuating you are dumb to buy something you want. Let’s see what you will call me then. I was nice.
