I love hot toys but they need to stick with the $160 price point, and $200 for the really good ones. This set is nice but they are nuts with the $500 price. There isnt even anything too special abou ths set.

easy pass.

Very disappointed with the price. Very.

me too man... me too. i know how bad you wanted it. because i wanted it that bad. what should we do? everyone boycott this! it will drop if it doesnt sell!

but it will...sell... CRAP

Its really too bad that HT didnt price the stand alone gantry at a more affordable price, say $169.99 (the average cost of any of thier standard 12") If they had done so, it would have surely led to a considerable profit since every 12" collector most likely has a variation of the Ironman in his collection.

I sincerly dont see the justification for the huge price hike, on a production perspective. There is no realized likeness of so and so to justify the cost increase. No detailed or elaborate costume to manufacture. In reality its a stand, 4 armature pieces, with 2 of which are clones or each other.

I can accept the high price for the either the Batman Tumbler or even the Bat Pod but this one really baffles me. Again its too bad, if they simply had put the cost down to a reasonable price, im sure it would have sold like hotcakes. Ok,

Im sure there will be some people who will be able to stretch thier wallet and get it, but for everyone else who is close to tapping out due to the numberous items already on thier plate are definitely going to pass. Oh well it would have been nice to have but $359.99 is way too steep.

Cool item. But at that price point I just have to pass. :(

Good for all of you who can spend a fortune on such things...I can't und won't. ;)

Probably get the Mark V though, looked pretty cool on the SDCC photos.

I know a few people already said they bought this. But, on the whole this may sit on Sideshow shelves like a Hot Toys Sao Feng

Hot Toys could have easily rolled over some of their profits on Iron Man figure after Iron Man figure to make this more affordable.

Perhaps their business model is to make back what they spent plus profit on EACH ITEM, rather than from the LINE.

Also, even offering a version of this piece that includes a Mark IV hurts the collector. If it was ONLY available without a figure, and at a lower price point, sales would increase dramatically. As it is, I honestly CAN'T see this item selling out. At all. Unless we're talking EXTREMELY low production numbers. And even then...

just out of curiosity has there ever been any instance of HT ever retracting thier price based on consumer demand? I assume since there are some people who can afford and willing to pay the price that such a thing will never happen?

People are/were buying the Secret Project for 400+, so I don't see the price being a deal breaker for everyone, especially since a Mark IV by itself seems to be going for around 300.

People eat this stuff up (myself included), and while I agree the price is pretty steep (too steep, even), I still bought it. Oh well.

I was going to get the whole set, but at that price, I just can't. I was going to pass on the stand alone gantry as well (first Iron Man thing I'd have missed) but then I realized something: This would be AWESOME with the mkII unleased! So now I kinda have to get it...

I was reading someones comment on the HT community page justifying that the reason for the price hikes was to deter scalpers. :cuckoo:

I strongly have to disagree with that persons comment cause scalper will continue to do what they do, even by simply selling the items piece by piece.

I really wish there was a way to somehow convey our concerns about the pricing on this particular item. Oh well I guess people who have decided to hold off will just have to wait to see if it goes on clearance on places like Go Hastings.

Hot Toys are becoming a rich man figures, and even Sideshow is jacking up there prices. I don't know if they live in a cave, but the economy in the US is not that great and these figures are "TOYS" and when you JACK up the price on everything the little guy that would buy 5 or 6 figures a year will disappear. I love Hot Toys as much as anyone here, they are all over my living room, but with the announcements of figures and the prices that should be some April Fools joke has turned me off in a BIG way!!! Now they are just being greedy. I look to the future and I see myself moving into something else to spend my money on. It's crazy, I the company that would get my money every time, has in 4 days helped me reconsider future purchases unless they are priced correctly.

LOL. a DX figure cost less that this product. At least with a DX you almost get a figure and 1/2.
