Insufferable S.O.B.
Why aren't people more excited about this figure? I guess cause it's just a repaint (of sorts).
Cause Red & Blue Spidey >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Krylon Black Spidey.

Red/Blue Spidey > Black Spidey
This will never change.
Yes it is awesome. Great looking figure. Nay Sayers can leave the thread cause this thing is gonna rock. SOLD!
Um this thread is for red and blue spider man so how about if you want to talk about how much you like the black one you make a thread for it...

Exactly my point. And of course red and Blue Spidey is the best but I thought a lot of people where looking forward to the black suited Spidey. It's one of the best story arcs in the Spider-man comics so it deserves a figure.
If I had to choose one or the other it'd be red/blue Spidey for sure...but I get to choose both. Can't wait to have them on the shelf.
Coco - I went through all 40 something pages of your "show your shelves" thread earlier and just WOW. One thing is for sure with your custom shelves and mini posters you will make one awesome Spiderman red/blue and black display. I can't wait to see it.
If HT decided to stop making any more figures from Spiderman 1, 2 & 3, wouldn't that be more of a reason to get this figure? It's HT, it's Spiderman, & it's a good figure. Even if you didn't like the movies, this is a good representation of Spiderman altogether. You don't have to look at this figure & think "oh, that's Spiderman from Spiderman 3". You can look at it & think "that's Spiderman" If you are a Spidey fan, comic, cartoon, movie or Electric Company, is there a better figure?
- Desirable figures with a limited supply edition go up in value - AgreedNo, they gain value by making limited supply of each edition. So, when new comers and pepole who didn't have the money at the time notice they sold out, they end up paying more for them when they decide to get them. When they keep making more new ones from the same line, the originals LOSE value. Sooner or later the market will be flooded, and companies like this will go bankrupt. Why not just make add-ons and accessories to update the originals instead?
- Desirable figures with a limited supply edition go up in value - Agreed
- People who miss out on a limited figure might pay more later to get it - Agreed
- Making more of the same "limited" figure later causes the original release to lose value - Pending
- Company will go bankrupt releasing a figure again - Disagreed
The company sells the figure, we pay retail prices, then we sell it later on above retail value. The toy company doesn't see any of the money we made from flipping/selling. I would think the company would make more money when releasing a popular figure again. People who really wanted it, but missed out, & still want it, would eat it up. Look at what's happening with the release of OC Bats
- Why not make add ons? - They have the gantry, tumbler ..... etc. So it's happening
Also, I think you missed the point I was trying to make with my original post. Basically I was saying, if you want a Spidey figure, this would be a good chance to get one, because we don't know when the next red/blue HT Spiderman figure will be (if ever) released
Battle damage Spidey FTW
No tears for people that are here to drive up prices for collectors. This hobby is expensive enough without flippers driving up the prices.
