I think the figure looks best when its posed with his head looking down for some reason.

Probably because of the facial expression...it doesn't exactly portray "action".

I agree this would be a HOMERUN with a 'alternate screaming headsculpt' included in the box.

As it is it's a little too movie Xmen/black leather. Not that bad but just a little more detail I think would have made the whole costume pop more.

The X-Men costumes made sense in the context and nature of the film. Mutants or not, the X-Men are just people coming up with a utility uniform.

This Thor costume lacks a wild edge that harkens back to the roots of Germanic myth. I agree some chain mail or fur or just a less polished appearance would give it some spark of life. The figure seems undersized for the costume as well.

I don't know. Its not crazy like some versions we've seen. As I've said before I really really like it.

The problem is that Thor needs to be huge. I think they could've accomplished this more by adding shoulder armor. I also wish they would have added the knee guards on the boots. This biker look just sucks to me. Almost like some motocross thing. And the hair...dont even get me started on the hair.
I think Branagh will do a good job but the look doesnt really jive with the War-like Norse mythological Thor.

yea I agree the only thing that bothers me about the figure is that he isn't bulky enough for Thor. Also the expression on the face but that could easily be solved if they include an extra battle cry head which I hope they do.

HT has alot of talented folk but I dont think being psychic is among their talents.
We need to let them know a second rage sculpt would really sell this figure.
If everyone here who wants a second rage sculpt just emailed them and included a link to this thread youd increase your chances.
I believe the screaming Leonidas sculpt was a late addition in response to collectors desires.

Here's some translation for a few interesting points in the article:

Unlike most previous HT releases, they are trying to release the Thor figure around the same time when the movie launches
Odin (Anthony Hopkins) is planned to be the next figure in line
They may consider doing different versions of Thor, but will wait to see how well this first one sells
They say It's very unlikely that they will do a civilian version of Thor
