Based on the neck I would say Thor is using the Whiplash/Expendables body. I guess the next size would be the T-800 but Im not sure the vest armor would fit over a larger upper torso.

You could still add the extended ankle joints, leg muscles and maybe just some extra layers under his clothes. Give him a sweater

As with all their preliminary pictures HT always includes the disclaimer indicating that they are only prototypes, that the final product may vary.

What are the chances they would use a larger body with the final product?

My guess is, we are already looking at the final product.

Yeah HT is constantly making adjustments to their products, sometimes weeks before release. ( in some cases they actually recalled a product cause it wasn't up to standards ) They are not like other companies who just put up the disclaimer for legal reasons

An example is the 300 Leonidas, when official pics were first showed it had 1 head sculpt. But because of fans request they added the second 'screaming' headsculpt. This was a team effort, I remember many people asking for it on their Facebook page and then- Surprise! we got it

Another example is the Falcon Predator. First pics did not show a robot falcon and then fans demanded it and HT listened

I don't think a second sculpt is very likely. Hot Toys does tweak things before release quite a bit, but a new head sculpt is going a bit far. They'll probably wait until the (inevitable) figure from Avengers film to give him a different facial expression.

I hope you're right. I really do.
This is one of the things that I think this figure could really use because the pics of the current expression is not doing it for me.
I mean, even a closed mouth but angry frown with eyebrows coming together a bit more would be A LOT better.

Although I will be buying him, this pose makes him seem like he is saying "If...if...if...you get any closer to me....I'm going to give you suuuuuch a punch" (in a slightly effeminate voice)

It seems to work with a stationary type pose.
However, any pose that depicts action or movement, the expression seems like he is bored out of his mind and doesn't really want to be there.

"You insignificant little human. I can crush you with this one hand without breaking a sweat." WAAAAMMMM!

"OK, cut!!! Uhh, Thor...what was that? Let's do that scene again but this time stick to the script and show me that you really mean it."

I think it looks great! I really do. I wouldn't mind if HT adds another angry sculpt or something, but I'd really hate it if they'd change this one.

IMO this is exactly the look he has on the poster, the black and white one with just the cape in colour. (Can't post pics from work otherwise I'd do that.)

I don't mind it, but they really need to include an alternate head that portrays some kind of emotion...hard to pose him in a confrontational stance with that blank look.

I remember many of us saying the same for Persues. We all wanted a shouting head.

On this Thor though, this was not something I immediately lept to. I would personally want him to be more bulky more than anything else.

Eh..i'm not mad on this figure really, i think i will wait for an avengers version, i will just stick with Ironman for now.

I think this figure looks great, but i wouldn't mind if they would surprise us another angry hs like what they did to leonidas. That was amazing!

I would very much rather have this expression than the angry one. To me, the angry one would be a plus, a good alternative. And yes, it would look great on some dynamic poses. But as far as the majority of poses, this works better.

I plan on having an HT Avenger Assembly and my plan is for all of them standing together looking stoic.
