That new Spidey suit is brilliant.

I like the new costume. Very slight differences to Maguires suit

i dont see painted on abs so its all good with me. always hated the muscle suit in the first 3 films, especially in the second one you could tell it was foam rubber whenever the suit was mean to look battle damaged.

Well, it does look superb, just like Spider-man should, in films made in this era and with the technology that film makers have now. To see Spider-man back on the screen in that classic look is enough to make any Spidey fan a bit giddy/giggly.

It will make a terrific figure, but...sorry folks but this is just one figure I would just never be able to justify picking up. I am sorry for the people that this will annoy, but it really is just too much like the Raimi suits.

I have to ask then, what exactly is the incentive for me buying it? To look so much like the SM-I+II+III suits, that only I and a small handful of others would know the difference?

Would I love to buy it, should it be made? Of course I would, I am a life-long, self-confessed Spidey fan! But even I am reluctant to pick up something that is so similar to my previous ones. My wife, who likes the ASM Spider-man film more than the original trilogy, loves our collection and even claims some of them as 'hers' (the HT Routh/SUPERMAN and Reeve/SUPERMAN Exc) and is very good with my particular branch of OCD, would buck in protest...and sadly, I cannot blame her.

still, I am now deffo getting the ASM figure, I have decided for definite.

I fully agree. especially the part in bold

I don't like it. I know a lot of people don't share my opinion, but the Amazing suit is my favorite of any Spider-Man suit. (I can't remember if I've said that here already, I've probably said it a thousand times haha). It really grew on me and I love it. So I can't help but feel that this is a downgrade.

One thing that I do like about the new suit, though, is how durable it looks. One of the things that really annoyed me about Raimi's films is that the suit looked and felt so cheap (yeah, I know Peter made the suit himself, but he's a genius and made the cheapest quality suit ever? K) It was constantly getting ripped, and I felt like it would tear if he moved in it wrong.

The Amazing suit, and this new suit, are clearly made of a very sturdy material, that looks like it can hold up well in action. Of course, I'm super excited for the movie, regardless of what the suit looks like. The suit IS Spider-Man, so I'll have to put my personal negativity aside. It's not like it looks so horrid that it'll be distracting. If the movie turns out even as good as Amazing, then I'll be happy.

On the other hand, I missed out on the HT Raimi Spider-Man, and don't want to she'll out eBay prices to get him now. This is "classic" Spidey so I'll happily buy him. But I agree, if I had the original figure I wouldn't even consider this.

Oh know that there will be buyers for it, I have no doubt whatsoever that it will sell. Your own personal experience is a prime example of such, DG. You have incentive right there.

But, what with those that already have both the Red/Blue and the Black Spider-man versions and that also intend to get the ASM-I version because of the difference in design (like myself and probably a good few others), where does that realistically leave this one, potential sales wise?

Folks who missed out first time, and the completists?

I suspect that if this does get made as a 1:6, and at (I suspect around) $225...it may be ending up as a bit of a shelf warmer.

i thought that the Amazing Spiderman was trying to introduce a costume that Peter couldh ave made, whereas this new suit appears to have that raised webbing again which would cost thousands to make!

it's a nice suit, but it just doesn't seem to fit with what the tone was supposed to be.

i appreciate that superhero films are escapism, but i really like the little details where they try and ground it in reality as much as poss, makes me more attached to the story and characters

like in the comics, Peter i seen sewing together what is a pretty basic suit, in the ultimate series, he gets a fancy suit off of the wrestling company and puts the webs on himself, i just feel they've gone against this, but who knows? maybe they'll be some explanation in the film

i guess you can't please everyone all the time so i imagine they'll be many folk who are happy with this

don't get me confused though, i don't think the costume is ugly or anything

looks like he's wearing 3/4 length trousers to me, i don't like the waist area of this suit, prefer the original one.

Why have they made the blue darker, no, no, no! It didn't need to be darker, this is practically navy again, the one area the Raimi suit went wrong. This is basically a clone now except for the eyes. Dissapointing is an understatement!

What's funny is the fact that these on set pics that have leaked make the new suit look 10 times better than the on set pics that leaked for ASM.

I love the design for the first film and the Raime films but those first pics we saw made the suit look like crap. At least these pics don't make him look like some gimp fetish dude in a one piece unitard.

Yeahh!! Looks great! :yess:

The boots look a little bulky around the feet area though, & need to lose those droopy Spider legs on the chest emblem.. :D

If HT fix the QC issues associated with the SM3 figure, their version of this guy could be the greatest Marvel figure to date - tin man aside. :lecture

I initially thought this was a raimi suit clone but it's not.
