Meh. I didn't feel his design all that much to get a figure. That's just me tho.

Likewise. I mean, I didn't like the way he was portrayed in the new reboot so that was my primary reason, but the suit didn't look "classic" like the new one does. I may be tempted to get the new suit just for nostalgia even if the movie isn't that good or if Peter Parker is the same ********* as he was in the first one.

Ok. I really want to know. What made Peter Parker a douchbag? Have these people followed the old movies? In the first movie he tells uncle Ben to stop pretending to be his dad. In 2 he basically flirts with an engaged woman and goes out with her and finally in three the movie revolves around him being a douch. What made this film the movie that made people realize " well gawshh. Peter Parker is a douch"?

I think my main issue with the reboot was how they portrayed Parker
In McGuires movies, he was the classic nerd, just like in the comics
In this new one, he was way more emo than nerd

hold up.

I have to disagree with you here, Peter Parker was a nerd in Maguire movies sure, but that was back in 2002. Fast forward to 2012 and you have Andrew Garfield as Peter, now if you look at kids these days, that's what the geeky kids behave with their iPods and techy stuff. Also Raimi's Peter was hardly a genius, probably a smart kid but not a talented wiz, that was the vibe I can get from Andrew's Peter

also

New Peter is not "emo" and that word should not be thrown around to describe any part of the Amazing Spider-Man. Peter was depressed his uncle died (who wouldn't be?) but he has his chin up and fell in love and became Spider-Man and became a responsible character, he didn't beat himself up and that I think is the definition of emo. Peter Parker if anything is just an outcast if anything and that is what comic Peter really is, an outcast. Especially in the Ultimate-verse

fyi this is ultimate Peter

McGuire is the perfect spidey, Garfield is too dull.
It's a matter of opinion.

General question: For a character like Spider-Man do you think a 1\6 figure can truly capture his essence? Spidey is one of those characters whose mannerisms, movements and personality seem like they might be better conveyed in a statue. Im leaning towards statue for both Spiderman and Hulk. What do you guys think?

No he wasn't the perfect spidey. Far from it. No jokes, always whined, very dull and overall just a baby. Good Peter yes but Spider-Man? Nope.

Wouldn't emo mean long flopy hair that covers an eye. Nose piercings or one of those discs in his earlope and dressing in dark clothes and possibly eye shadow?

I have one spidey 1/6 figure; black suite spidey and he's posed balancing himself on top of the sandman's arm getting ready to jump off and fight the new goblin, IMO 1/6 captures Spidey just perfect; I'm not a big fan of statues if there's a 1/6 counterpart, i'd rather come up with an awesome Pose or change it from time to time than let someone else do it for me, thats part of the fun with owning these...
