oh you. HT you sucked again IMO. time to hide the salami deep into the recesses of some fools colon. this thing is a travesty. im not crapping on people who like it. i WISH i liked it. it just doesnt have that wow factor, i hate the mask on the head instead of how the proto looked. and the damage looks like that sticker you put on your car window to make it look like a baseball got thrown through it. and the arc is off center. not enough for me. im out. damn me for being picky, but i am. seems like the more character they try to give a figure, the more stale it looks TO ME.

It's kinda meh. Proto did look better, but that could just be the pictures rolling in being ****ty. Oh well. Will be displaying with the Mark VII Tony head.

I tend to agree...my main issue with the battle damage is the part around the chest that is supposed to look like mangled metal, but somehow looks cheaply done. I also wish the HS was more like the proto...all that being said, I'm still bummed I missed out on the PO, but am starting to consider doing my own battle damage to one of my Mark VIIs :)

More pics and I dont care what anyone says this easily lives up to the proto

Wow! That's more like it! :clap:clap:clap

i think they need more BD around the ARC and shoulders. That's what the proto really had more of that you can notice this one doesn't. It looks random too clean around the areas and doesn't transition well like the regualr MK VII. I'm stoked to have mine shipping soon but for $300 i expected a little more. While this doesn't come with as many parts as the MK VII, i figure they could've at least had the weathering better around those areas. Nice to see the back weathered though!

Oh yeah! That's looking the shiz!

I just got the regular version and I think it;s the best IM yet but I wonder are there folks out there will keep this BD one and sell on the regular?
Do I need two Marks VIIs?

You sure do. One clean and one dirty with a RDJ sculpt on it.

Anyone who says the proto had more BD I challenge them to look at the pics side by side :lecture

They're saying it isn't as well painted as the proto, not that it lacks the BD it had. The area around the arc reactor shows a difference in quality, even though the damage is still there. And we get that you like it, but people are entitled to opinions too.

No they're not

Oh and on the whole they're entitled to their opinion I'm also entitled to my opinion that those suggesting there's a noticeable difference between the proto and this are either blind, moaning for the sake of it or are idiots

Actually, that's EXACTLY what I'm saying. The paint job is not as well done as the prototype. I am seriously thinking I might buy a regular mark VII and do it myself. Then I would give up the headsculpt, but that is also different than the prototype

I don't mind if people don't like it.
This thread will be FULL of people who have bought one complaining about the quality, or people who haven't, trying to justify their inability to secure one/inability to justify the cost.
And i am not saying it's a bad thing.
By all means, everyone post their opinion. It's the best part of a forum. Hearing what everyone has to say. It would be boring if we all agreed.
My opinion is that it looks good enough for me to lay down $670 for my two.
I certainly won't be cancelling.

Very noticeable that there's less scorched black burn marks. Missing from the left side of the reactor as well as shoulders. Less black all around I'd say, so it is different. Check out the rib vents too!

Actually, can somebody help me? I am seriously considering just getting a regular Mark seven and doing the battle damage myself. I will displayed in a hall of armor environment, so I don't need the diorama base anyway.

As for the head sculpt, I really like the one on the armor testing version (MMS191).

So here's my question. Could you put the MMS 191 head on the regular Mark VII?

MK VII head is attached to the neck while the MMS 191 isn't. You'll need a neck adapter.

:hi5: Really liking what I'm seeing from the pics. I wish the centerpiece had more of the silver chipping look to it as well as the abs, but overall I'm pleased with the battle damage look.

And I think the head sculpt looks amazing. For those who are thinking it looks a little spacey, I think are judging it from the extremely close up pic. But from a normal distance it looks SUPERB! And I love that Hot Toys added some of the BD around the open faceplate when Hulk rips it off!

Just two more weeks!

:hi5:
