Oh, duh! Lol. I totally missed that video. Not showing up on my iphone browser. Thanks for the tip! Answers all my questions...which makes things even harder. Aargh. Decisions decisions. :)

It kind of helped me, I was thinking about getting Iron Monger but looking at it up against Igor made me think it didn't look all that impressive so maybe now I don't want it. lol :) Still ages away till I get Igor though due to this strike going on, so I may change my mind yet (maybe).

I don't own one, but Monger's still a great figure to have, especially if you have a Mark III.

I don't have a mark III yet, got the new diecast figure on preorder though. :) I spend far to long pondering to be honest & quite often talk myself into & out of buying something several times before finally making my mind up..., it's the price of Monger on the after market that doesn't appeal I guess, if I'd been collecting Iron Man figures when it was first released I'd have paid in instalments & not thought too hard about it, all in one go though well then I start thinking I could get Python, War Machine or one of the earlier suits (hence my pondering).

Kev, when you say strike, do you mean at the docks?

Yes, don't know much about it to be honest..., read all sorts but these things happen from time to time, just have to practice being patient. It'll probably help me out really anyway as I've got Gentle Giant Star Wars busts & Robert Harrop Doctor Who figurines to be paying for over the next couple of months so my payments can be spread out more evenly now (I think).

there are many people who ordered the igor complaining about the quality of the final product on SB facebook.
they said the wethering work, the body color and body shape are all falling short of the standard set by the prototype.
and they said they are not going to collect it unless HT gave them explanation! HT has not responded yet.

There are always moaners no matter what gets made, even if it was perfect there'd be more than one person moaning about something..., it's a very nice looking figure & despite that we get complaints, I accept things for what they are as in the end, nothing's going to happen. :)

The comments on the hot toys facebook page are honestly the worst. It's just filled with nothing but complaints

Did you watch the video, the figure looks excellent. The loudest people are always the unhappy ones but they are still in the minority, wouldn't worry to much.

Picked mine up first day. Been tinkering with him last couple days. Happy with purchase but also room for improvement. Some thoughts.

Pros

1) Sheer shelf presence. Igor has some serious bulk to the figure. Similar in size to the Hulk and the Iron Monger, just a tad bigger. This is the main reason for buying this figure.

2) Range of motion in terms of adjustability when I comes to height. The waist can sit pretty erect and can also abdominal crunch to quite a degree. I prefer the Quasimoto look so that's how mine is being displayed.

3) Love the side-to-side neck mobility.

4) Very secure packaging, identical to monger packaging just bigger in every dimension.

Cons

1) Feels and sounds very plastic and cheap. I am aware that it IS plastic but I guess with large figures everything is amplified. Iron Monger didn't feel as cheap to me...especially the joints.

2) Paint application is a huge difference from Prototype. Prototype had much more wear and tear paint. Also paint application is very poor on the underside of the moveable arm hooks. This is my biggest disappointment with this figure since there are so many flat surfaces on this figure. Parts such as the upper arms and shoulder pads appear underwhelming under the lights in my display.

3) Rubber panties, and rubber bit on the back. Possibility for future fade.

4) Ankle articulation is very limited so in many poses the feet don't appear to be firmly planted on the ground.

5) Hand Repulsor batteries are a beech to insert...I'm very likely doing something wrong but I cant seem to achieve the degree of rotation in the hand required to permit free unhindered access to the battery cover. Fat fingers just don't allow for that...if someone figures it out please let me know.

6) Value not the greatest compared to a similar sized figure such as the Iron Monger and I gauge the price to be the same adding in a bit of inflation. Iron Monger also had an extra head sculpt, paint app was better on the Monger, and details much more intricate on the monger and the engineering was in a different ballpark all together.

Here's some pics I took since I figure some of you are curious about articulation. The instructions are pretty accurate when it comes to the range of motion achievable.

I will wait to have it in handle to judge. It's been along wait.

That's why I'm sort of a love and hate with the boards...I love coming and discussing the product and everyday things released and like being well informed but some of the different comments take away from the magic, a lot of things I would have never spotted out in a million years and just been happier with my own perception of a figure...I guess red or blue pill? Stay in ignorant bliss and be happy with your purchase or read a few post till someone points out flaws you've never seen ,would not have seen but now you can't let go.....I can even see if some members would have a strictly non bias opinion but alot of the guys for just one example will be mad at the price ,won't give an honest opinion and say "hey, it's an awesome fig but I'm mad at the price " but instead they'll point out something like the sticker at the bottom of the foot is upside down I'm not getting this garbage.....I think that's why I skip over a lot of the chatter and just look for info on releases pics and one or two view points then I'm out

There are many people who seem to never understand an underlying point with collectibles - your eyes do not see things the way meticulously lit and photoshop enhanced photographs look.

Exactly, is the same way with these huge expectations for what a woman should be, society takes an airbrushed, warped image of a woman in a magazine under beauty lights and thinks this is real, bros...ITS NOT.

Call me selfish but I don't mind the negative reviews.

I would love to get this a good discount and bad reviews will keep these in the warehouse longer.

Is it deceptive? Or is it all part of salesmanship?

It's a bit of both...all things are glamoured up before sold, reason why bathing suits are showcased on women with perfect bodies and THEN Photoshopped to make them flawless....however HT shouldn't be taking advantage of this and going wayyyyy off the Prototype product, I think Igor is good enough, but then again I'm not a details snob like some in here, I'm paying the same for these figures, just don't expect Tony Starl himself to deliver his hand made Igor to my door

You guys have it backwards.

You can't tell a prototype artist "Hey, don't make this look to good or people will complain when the mass produced item comes out"

When prototypes are created they are completely painted and in some cases, areas are re-sculpted to make them fit, work or look right.

It would be impossibly to make a mass produced item look as good as a prototype unless each figure was hand painted.
