Did you pay through PayPal? If so I'd give it a little longer since you have buyer protection. But I wouldn't get my hopes up as the figure is generally considered sold out. Unless they have a source from somewhere that's been heavily delayed or something, as nowhere else seems to be getting more.

Yeah, I paid with paypal. It was an Italian site so Paypal was my only option. I asked them today to cancel my order and give me a refund, but they claimed they couldn't do that. Even though they told me to not worry about them getting the figure in stock, I'm still worried. I don't want to run out of time with Paypal to get my money back through them if something happens with this website. The website seems reputable. So I hope they are right.

Absolutely, agree with Wor-Gar. Cancel immediately. If they still won't refund, file a dispute with Paypal.

No idea about Italian web shops, but one of the reasons a lot of people don't ship to Italy is because of customs services there causing a lot of delays in package delivery - it's been traditionally the same with Spain. But if you use USPS you can have delivery confirmation which does work and clearly shows when a package has landed in the country. That doesn't mean that the buyer won't still be pissed off when it gets to Italy in 3 or 4 days and then seems to sit for 2 weeks without moving in Milan or Rome, etc.

8 day notice prompted me to cancel...

...and reordered with $20 promo code.

I'd been holding off applying the code as it would then add the NRD and I wasn't 100% sure. I think I might have too many Stormtroopers. Is there some kind of support group that can help? You're all a bunch of enablers. :lol

Exactly my plan.... but I haven't got that notice.

It seems suspicious that they wouldn't even give you the option of a refund.

But you do have 180 days to file a dispute now, so you should have time.

If you only want one Stormtrooper, you could always just get the Luke in Stormtrooper disguise figure and keep the helmet on. At least you can get that directly from Sideshow.

I have a friend that lives in Spain. If Italy is anything like Spain, then I can totally understand. The Spanish post is corrupt and a joke. They'll arbitrarily pull people's packages and hold them for "further inspections" unless you go down to the post office and offer them a "fee" to "expedite" the "inspection" and miraculously get your package a few days after that.

There is a support group. It's called the Show Us Your Troops thread and that supports people by showing them they need more troopers and/or were justified in buying as many as they can.

I filed the dispute after further contact with them. PayPal makes you talk to the seller through PayPal first. Since I already talked to them on Facebook, I restated my key points and asked for a refund again. They still refused so I escalated the case and it is in PayPal's hands now.

That's good. Very suspicious behavior on their part. You made the right call.

Yeah, I don't know what their problem is. I think I might like the Spacetrooper more than the normal Stormtrooper, but I don't know. The normal Stormtrooper is iconic, but the Spacetrooper has cool accessories and I love the big gun. I wonder which will be worth more in the future, not that I plan on selling any Star Wars stuff.

If they're actually getting the stormtrooper at some point, they'll have no trouble selling it, so they should indeed be issuing you a refund without delay.

Probably the regular single Stormtrooper unless Hot Toys makes more, eg. RotJ variant. Spacetrooper is great and would be ideal if the accessories were easily removed. But if I could only get one, I would have the standard Stormtrooper. As you said, iconic.

Yeah, they should be able to sell it with little difficulty like you said. I don't know what take on things PayPal will have. They have both buyer and seller protection. So we will see.

Yeah, the normal Stormtrooper seems like the smart choice if only deciding between one or the other. I just really think Spacetrooper looks cool. Looking cool is good and all, but I have to think he might be slightly out of place on my shelf with just a Snowtrooper to keep him company as far as troopers go. I'm not really the kind of person who has to own one of each version. If I get a trooper based on the classic style armor, Stormtrooper, Spacetrooper, or Sandtrooper, chances are that's the only trooper I'll own of that classic armor style.

Like I said above, what about the Luke in Stormtrooper disguise figure? You can just display that as a Stormtrooper, and you'll have an extra detailed helmet as well as the Luke portrait. It's an exclusive, and if you want to get some money back, you can always just sell the portrait for a good amount.

It seems suspicious that they wouldn't even give you the option of a refund..

From a technical perspective, a PayPal transaction can only be refunded for up to 60 days. After that the seller would have to send the buyer a payment, which means they're out their original fees and either the buyer will have to pay a fee to receive (3-4%) or the seller will have to pay to send as "Family and friends" and pay up to about 1%.
