Looks just like Mark 46 to me but somebody in the movie thread told me it definitely wasn't because the gold on the shoulders is different

Just a hunch, but I'm willing to bet that sequence of them together is just before the CW fight at the airport.

I'm perfectly fine with that ... Tony popping up intermittently and offering wisdom ("Don't do anything I would do/don't do anything I wouldn't do.") works for me.
Also, I assume he would need to get clearance from the council to act anyway in this post CW world, which is why we see the police after Spidey.

Yeah the IM suit seen in the Spider-Man trailer looks just like the Mark 46 to me. The gold around the shoulders looks identical, so I'm not too sure what difference that user was talking about in the Spider-Man movie thread.

Maybe they were comparing the homecoming screenshot to the 46 power pose figure? The gold is different around the collar on the power pose than it was in the movie.

46 is now the default Tony's "Have to appear in other people's movie but needs to suit up in an armor" suit
I guess having RDJ in the movie is distracting enough, they don't need the distraction of yet another new IM armor...

It's early yet. Chances are pretty high that the suit is a reused animation from CW since effects are not yet finished. The 46 I mean. So they could easily change it or change something later. Remember half the time the stuff in trailers never even makes the final film cut.

I totally disagree.
I think RDJ being in this movie is fantastic. For me, I've never been a particularly big spider-man fan, but I love iron man, and I think RDJ is great. His acting, his humor, the attitude he gives tony, it's all great and I think he'll fit in perfectly.
It's just another awesome instance of this universe being intertwined. It'll help separate this new spider-man from the previous iterations in a positive way. Plus, Keaton and RDJ in a spider-man movie just screams awesome to me. That's not to mention that the casting choice for this spider-man (in my opinion) is by far the best yet.
The last time they really talked about Tony's armor was the 42 and the 44 to a smaller extent. Otherwise, they just show up. The only distraction a new armor in this movie would pose is for the iron man fans who want to see a new armor anyways. It's not like there were going to be countless threads about a new iron man armor appearing in homecoming.
Anyways.. I'd really like to see, once tony calls it quits or is killed off, rather than replacing him with a new character, they just give us an iron spider. I'd LOVE to see a marvel cinematic universe iron spider.
