Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

What are the odds that HT will do a Spidey movie special exclusive MK XLVI?

"Just don't do anything I would do. And definitely don't do anything I wouldn't do. There's a little gray area in there and that's where you operate."

Tony Stark may operate in the gray, be we're as transparent as possible with our intentions for Iron Man figures.

Sideshow and Hot Toys would like to officially re-introduce you to the latest edition of our MMS Diecast sixth scale collectible figure series - Tony Stark's Iron Man Mark XLVI from Spider-Man: Homecoming. It's exactly the same as the Captain America: Civil War version, except with less accessories! BUT, it's a Movie Promo!

Don't miss out on your chance to add the man with the hots for "Aunt Hottie" to your collection!

Movie Promo! Ahh!

I'd buy it.

I just want to see an update with his forearm weapons.. But, as time goes on, it seems less and less likely.. And if we do get an update, I'm sure the release date will get one as well.

It's gonna be a looooong winter.

I'm with you. It could go either way if we're basing it off HTs track record. The 1/6 43 didn't get the updated movie-accurate forearm rockets but the 1/4 Mk43 did. WM Mk3 got an update as well. But then there's the Armored Batman figure that never got the kryptonite spear which 100% should've been the accessory for that particular figure.

:dunno

I think they're saving the spear for the BD version of the Armored Batman. Speculation though.

True.

I just think that since they updated the mk 3 (granted, that was also an accuracy thing rather than specifically an addition). But still, it needs to be done. I think the forearm weaponry was more memorable than when he used the collar missiles, which are included.

I guess we'll just wait and see. They sure have plenty of time lol.

I'm really really interested to see how the lighting works and how much or how little the articulation is affected and how many batteries and switches it'll need.

Me too. Seems like a much easier task on the 1/4 scale. I know in the description it says it'll have 28 LEDs, but my brain is still struggling with how it'll be done. Hopefully they all shine relatively bright. My fear is that it takes so long to turn on all the switches and cover up all the battery compartments that by the time I get it all lit up, the LEDs that I turned on first will already begin to dim :lol (true story with AoU WM).

Awesome! LOL! You forgot to mention the recycled likeness of Robert Downey Jr. with a different paintjob!
Not interested in 46, not before, not now...

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

Yeah the IM suit seen in the Spider-Man trailer looks just like the Mark 46 to me. The gold around the shoulders looks identical, so I'm not too sure what difference that user was talking about in the Spider-Man movie thread.

When has Stark ever just remade a damaged suit just like it was without upgrades?
If that is the final design for that shot I wonder if part of this movie takes place before Civil War, maybe this could be a flashback? Clips of Spider-Man testing out his new costume for the first time or something? I am not making a prediction, just wondering if it's possible.

His hall of armor in Iron Man 3. All of those suits were damaged but re-made without any upgrades.

As far as suits he's worn again, the Mark 6 carried over from IM2 to Avengers, the Mk7 carried over from Avengers to IM3 and the Mark 42 kinda carried over from IM3 to AoU with the 43 being just a different paint job. The only suits that don't have any over lap are the Mk3 and Mk45.

Without putting them on again they could just be museum pieces. I'm not saying that's what they were just saying it's possible; especially with the Mark1

the Mark 6 and 7 are good examples - good point. I always assumed the 43 had more upgrades than just the paint job (though all on inside in how things function) from the 42, with the 42 being a prototype. The assumption is there were enough changes to warrant it being a new model even if the body was essentially the same.

He used the VII in the beginning of IM3. I'm pretty sure they were all functional based on that alone.

To bad they destroyed the MKIII/MKIV...

It would be awesome if they recreated the scene from Siege where he's using the classic armor to fight back Osborn.

It would've been a good excuse for HTs to remake the III :lol

Re: Hot Toys - MMS353 D16 - CA: Civil War - Mark XLVI Collectible Figure

I think it was Motuxmen who suggested that it could be a leftover animation from Civil War that they've just used in an early trailer. That seems most likely in my opinion.

Or it could a a flashback of them heading to the airport in Civil War and Tony never actually dons armor during the story of the movie ... never know.

If only Hot Toys would make a power pose figure of this armor from the picture.
