Something to consider for those who say they wished this included the Endor gear as opposed to making a separate figure: would the point of it be to simply have the option of occasionally changing the look of him? For instance, if you changed the look of this figure to the Endor gear (which to me is a totally different look than both his Jedi and DS look and could see including those two looks in one release, as this does), that would mean the only RotJ Luke figure you'd have on display is Endor Luke. And if that's the case where you want the Endor Luke to serve as your RotJ representation, then just buy the Endor figure.

The point is if this included the Endor gear, you'd have to buy a new body and sculpt anyway if you wanted to have Luke in his DS or Jedi look and also in his Endor gear.

I agree.

There are Luke's primary outfits that show his progression as a character -- his story arc.

And there are outfits that are distinctive to each movie's primary planet.

Character:
Farmboy
Fatigues
Jedi

Locale Specific:
Tatooine
Hoth
Endor

You see, you really need all six to properly display Luke. You cannot have an Endor as your only Luke.

What's the locale-specific Tatooine figure that's not the Farmboy?

They are the same. Before toys became so important.

So there are 5 critical outfits.

PLUS a 6th -- Luke pilot gear, which is the only outfit he wears throughout all three films. Space Hero needs a spacesuit.

So you all have 6 outfits to get. Better focus harder on those codes.

But you said six figures, as if the list laid them out for us!

The main outfits for the first two movies are clear:
Tunic, Bespin Fatigues

But with Jedi, Luke is wearing the tunic over the DSII outfit, then adding the poncho and helmet, then taking it all off for Vader.

Read above, the spacesuit.

Farmboy outfit and Jedi outfit are similar in that Luke wears stuff over it -- trooper gear or Endor gear. I think the outfit changes became necessary with the harsh environment of Hoth requiring a unique outfit... and because Lucas saw $$$ for toys. So Luke's wardrobe grew.

It's this kind of thinking that kept me away from Star Wars 1/6th for a long time. Before Sideshow. Before the Dark Times.

Yep.

Anything outside of ANH Farmboy, ESB Bespin/fatigues and RotJ Jedi (tunic or DS) is merely a Luke variant to me. These three looks are obligatory in showing an evolution of the character.

Trooper disguise is a stretch. At the end of the day, Jedi has one outfit, with accessories, but they're making two figures.

The other movies have 3 clear outfits. (I'm excluding the 5-second ceremony and frigate scenes).

ANH:
Farmboy
Stormtrooper
Pilot

ESB:
Hoth
Snowspeeder
Bespin

ROTJ
DSII + Tunic/Jabba Cape
DSII + Endor Poncho/Helmet

I have a hard time posing Luke without his cloak. Thats how my SS Jedi Luke has been for 11 years. :lol

I smell alot of OCD here.....

Pick you Favorite look and buy a single figure?

I only would have done Endor look if they did a Dx with it included. Since they screwed us.....only ROTJ for me.....

ANH Luke looks off...
Bespin Luke is rare and expensive.....so its a no brainer for me.

That's all his "location" looks yes. My first 3 list was for character. Outfits that represent his character. The 2nd 3 were his distinctive planet looks -- going by Tatooine, Hoth and Endor (the main planet styles).

You're talking about wardrobe changes and somehow saying I'm wrong....? You still need your 3rd for Jedi BTW.

I have TonTon reworking his charts at home like a scientist faced with a new formula.

To me, Endor has always been Luke's worst look. I have no need or want of it on my shelf... unless I was displaying Lukes from the 3 primary OT planets.

Problem is, I like Hoth... and that messes up everything. :lol

I had hoped to keep my Lukes to Tatooine, Bespin and Jedi... with pilot as a bonus. But even 4 of the same figure takes up a lot of space.

Don't even get me started on Hans and Leias.

No, I understand your character arc outfits, and those make total sense. I'm speaking more to the choice to make these into separate figures than anything related to the movies.

But maybe Luke's mostly singular outfit in ROTJ forced Hot Toys' hand. What I meant was that ANH and ESB have clearly separate outfits—ANH is clear and for ESB, almost nothing is shared outside the boots/gloves/belt across the different outfits. But with Jedi it's really just the one outfit, DSII, with extras--for Endor he adds a poncho and helmet and on Tatooine he has a cloak. The figure is just a couple accessories apart from the other, that's all.

ANH Farmboy, ESB Bespin and Snowspeeder, RotJ DS or tunic for me.

Endor and Hoth are needless representations to me.
