No, I understand your character arc outfits, and those make total sense. I'm speaking more to the choice to make these into separate figures than anything related to the movies.

But maybe Luke's mostly singular outfit in ROTJ forced Hot Toys' hand. What I meant was that ANH and ESB have clearly separate outfits—ANH is clear and for ESB, almost nothing is shared outside the boots/gloves/belt for Hoth Luke/Snowspeeder Luke. But with Jedi it's really just the one outfit, DSII, with extras--for Endor he adds a poncho and helmet and on Tatooine he has a cloak. The figure is just a couple accessories apart from the other, that's all.

Yes, its his base outfit now that he's a Jedi. His new skin I guess that he 'disguises' with different looks for the toys. :lol

But to me, on the shelf, Endor looks different than DSII looks different than Jabba Palace -- he's just wearing black underneath.

It would be funny if Hot Toys first released a ROTJ X-Wing Luke to get around whatever time frame they seem to have from the last SS version of a figure.

Blasphemy! And what of the young pilot who destroyed the Death Star? Or figured out to use the tow cables to take down the AT-ATs? :lol

I know. :lol

For a pilot look, I really like his RG Snowspeeder look better though. Kills two birds with one stone by having a pilot and a Hoth representation.

I have no idea if ROTJ pilot Luke is a hodge-podge of ANH/ESB or if its straight ANH. Knowing Lucas, there's a difference.

What killed me was the 3.75 inch figures of Luke. They started having ANH variations of everything with the slightest difference: Tatooine with poncho -- Tatooine with brown belt -- Tatooine with stormtrooper belt -- Tatooine with falcon gunner headset --

Absolutely true !!! But which figure of all these shall I pass on?
Dunno. That's your call, lol.

Personally, I try to only get versions of characters I really like. I don't need them all.

For instance, I don't need a Batman Begins Batman when my entire display is TDK and TDKR, even though I've seen Batman Begins about 30 times. It's my favorite film, lol.

And I also don't need a stormtrooper when nearly every Star Wars figure I have is a Jedi or a Sith, save for Han, Chewie and Leia. And of course the soon to be Jyn.

Maybe one day when I have more space, and assuming the disposable income keeps amassing, I may try to complete more displays, instead of simply having tunnel vision for what catches my eye most. Not really looking forward to that day though. :lol

I think they once had Tatooine with the little T-16 skyhopper model. Hasbro knew what they were doing when they got that license.

They did. They had a Luke with Blast helmet on. I mean, they had every moment of Luke if he held or wore the slightest different thing. I think there were 12-15 Luke variants on the green card. That's about when I gave up. It was literally that Luke with Falcon headset where I was like, this is nuts. And it was. Best thing I did was walk away... and then stumble into 1/6th... with $200+ variations. :slap

I have so many boxed and loose Hasbro figures it's ridiculous. I barely even have any on display anymore. :lol

They got me into the hobby and I don't regret buying them and one day I will have a cabinet just for those. Granted, I'll be selling the carded ones at some point.

Believe me, I'm right there with you. I moved recently and the most difficult part was moving all the boxes of boxed up toys. The single cards, the three-packs, the vehicles, the animals....

There's value there but to piece meal it out for $5 each on ebay would take me forever. I don't know what to do with all my 'junk'. I do kind of regret it now. It's like this massive rock I have to carry with me forever. :lol

What was brilliant was that they moved away from that and when I started collecting the 3 3/4 figure in 2004, I would have to track down those older POTJ figures just to grab those random accessories to add to the newer figures.

Oh yeah, by 2004 I was long done with it. Besides the old original Kenner stuff, I have almost everything (including many multiples) from 1995 red cards all the way through the green POTF up to 1999 where TPM just got out of hand -- red cards, green cards, .00, .01, paint variants, etc.

I got to find a seller or a guy who wants to buy an entire collection and just let it all go in one fell swoop. I'll loose money but I'd be rid of it all in one transaction.

I started calling places once before I moved but finding anyone interested in this junk ain't as easy as everyone assumes. The people that would be interested already have the same junk in their storage rooms.

You can sell lots on eBay and specify it as pick up only. Other way would be Facebook marketplace meeting at a comic shop. I'm sure the store would be thrilled at seeing such a transaction go down and would hope you would plop down a few bucks on a Star Wars comic afterward. :lol

Lots are a problem -- people always want to trade out things. Hard to know what to bunch together.

I'll find someone somewhere. But its going to take a lot of time, I can see it already. But it will be nice to get some money back on all the cash I dropped over 7 years of collecting that 3 inch stuff obsessively.

You don't have to trade anything out. Sort the lots by troopers, then Empire staff, main villains, hero characters and their variants and rebel alliance members. The vehicles and animals are a different beast.

I only have about 300+ loose figures and 100 boxed figures, lol. I'm guessing you have a truck load.

I have close to a truck load, yes. Probably near 300 single carded, plus the various boxed groupings. Ugh. I have a list but I haven't looked at it in years. Too scared.

I`m glad I`m out of that game I sold off mine around 98 and traded for vintage star wars then sold off all the vintage star wars. then got into the POTJ TPM ROTS it was all crap sold it all in 05, then in 06 the 1/6 bug got me and never stopped. and I never looked back at buying any star wars action figure again to this day. I don't miss the repaints the repackage. and wasting gas running to all those damn stores hunting down figures where they have peg warmers on the j hooks stores after store. I still look at those BS 40th but only see leia`s and lukes and say to my self glade I`m not starting this crape again. they look cool but I`m not going down that tunnel again.

or use them as kindling in the fall for bon fire that`s what all they will be mostly good for. unless you have a few that are gems half circle boba fett freeze frame weequay. or those long saber short tray BS
