Robe is too short....Where is that guy selling the $22k custom when you need him?

Oh yeah the one of a kind figure...once in a generation....never to be duplicated....don't miss out figure....I forgot about that fella....should bump that thread lol see if he pre-ordered this one....not that he would need to lol

Vancei was the original custom artist. The dude here who was spouting all that garbage was not him.

Speaking of, it was actually a really good attempt at Anakin (aside from the awful rooted hair).

I feel it in many ways capture Anakins face better.

Not bad, like many years ago. Looks a bit like a Thunderbirds puppet now (or Team America for you youngsters).

Vancei was definitely ahead of the curve though, with improper tools.

That’s a pretty good sculpt. As mentioned, in some ways I think it actually captures the character and Hayden’s likeness better. Hair is a bit too thick though, to where they look like dreads.

Re: Hot Toys Episode 3 Anakin

Looking at this pic as well as the promo pics...

I mean, it's nowhere near as close as the promo, which is what we were talking about.
There are definitely differences. The production sculpt is longer and overly "chiseled", which makes it look off to me. The promo looked much closer to Anakin IMO. Don't get me wrong, the sculpt is still decent, but it's not in the same league as what the promo pics were advertising at all.

If I didn't know that was the actual figure, I'd probably assume it could be a KO sculpt. Hopefully more reviews and pics come out showing it can at least look better with proper lighting or in-hand, but so far it's disappointing how much worse than the promo it got.

And then looking at these..

It becomes quite obvious that lighting plays such a huge role in bringing out the proper likeness (especially in that second pic). I Am Toys nailed the lighting instead of the usual washed out whites we get in a lot of early pics/ reviews and so he looks so close to the promo. And of course Hot Toys lights to perfection when advertising these.

Great work on those shots man, he’s a beaut, can’t wait till mine arrives (a few months from now :slap).

Thanks for the compliments dude. Lots of collectors forget or don’t realize that sculpts are created to bring out shadow detail based on lighting. After all, both the head sculpt and ppaint application are done under appropriate lighting, which pretty much allows the artist to ascertain what he/she has done.
